Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I Love Rock N Roll

Nice!

Did not know that was a cover.

To me the most obvious one is Manfred man's earth band cover of blinded by the light.

I got a few more in mind....

I had no idea that song was a cover.

It's a Bruce Springsteen song, the opening track on his debut album.

I don't like the Mann version at all.

Guns n Roses - Knocking on Heaven's Door

That`s harsh! Whaddabout Paradise City, Sweet Child? I dislike Heaven`s Door, and am annoyed with Dylan for writing it and for with everyone else for covering it :tsk:

My least favorite cover of theirs. I like Live And Let Die and Mama Kin but this never did it for me. Not surprised that it was filler considering it was only done for the, speaking of awful, Days Of Thunder soundtrack.

Now, when you say least favourite, are you including all of the The Spaghetti Incident? I don`t know if I need to try it a few more times, but I didn`t love it.

Some covers were good but some don't measure up like Hair Of The Dog.

Earth, Wind & Fire - Got To Get You Into My Life

Bigger than Shining Star and September?

I'd mention Manic Monday and Hazy Shade Of Winter which were big hits in their own right but they peaked at number 2. The number ones by Bangles were Walk Like An Egyptian and Eternal Flame. Ironically, the song that kept Manic Monday out was by the purple clad Minnesotan who wrote it with Kiss.

'Shining Star', 'September' and 'Got To Get You Into My Life' all went to #1 on the US R&B charts noted from the band's wikipedia entry.

The way that’s written makes it look like Prince wrote “Manic Monday” with Gene and Paul.
