Listen you TRFers, you've lived for many years now, but after 2020 and Covid-19 who knows what disasters will befall us in 2021...so it's time to list

...your top 20 bands of all time, not 10 or 50, just 20. Any genre you like even if your #5 is Debbie Gibson and your #7 Milli Vanilli, let's see

OK, so top bands are our 20 favorites, or what we think is the 20 best? I'm overthinking this I guess!

For a lot of people they will be the same but I have questionable taste so like the Jackson Five would be in my favorites but they might not be the "best" band (but maybe, they were cool in some ways.)

Twenty is a lot! I will try to see if I am up to the task. I have around 9 that are my all time A++ favorites and then everyone else is kind of a b or a c. I'll try!

Yeah, duck asked me this the other day and it was hard to get even a top 10 going. I got my top 3 then it gets hard to narrow it without taking the wussy way out and having everyone tied.

You've got as much time as you like to decide.

The Jackson Five are acceptable. They're about 11 levels above Debbie Gibson. :D-13:

Take a bit of time to work it out. Maybe you forget one or two and you need to put them in later, or maybe you realise HEY I think I like so-and-so better than such-and-such and now I'll insert them into my list instead. And so on.

How many will list 100 acts with 20-way ties for 2nd place and 30-way ties for 20th place and bla bla bla?

10 + 10 = 100

I might allow a slight expansion to 25, as 25 is a beautiful mathematical figure. 25 is a square It is a square number, being 5 2 = 5 × 5. It is one of two two-digit numbers whose square and higher powers of the number also ends in the same last two digits. It is the smallest square that is also a sum of two (non-zero) squares: 25 = 3 2 + 4 2. It's the only square that is actually cool. :smoke:

Won’t matter. There will be 5-way, 10-way, 20-way ties no matter what. Then there are the honorable mentions lists which will have an additional ten to thirty bands/solo artists listed.

Bands? Not just artists? I have....four prepared, lol.

I took it to mean bands not solo artist.

For example, I didn’t choose Tom Petty even though he is part of the Heartbreakers.

Otherwise, he’d be way at the top.

duck’s first post mentions Debbie Gibson so solo artists would be okay.
