IbanezJem
Should be a great and unique autumnal event, low-scoring too judging by the receptiveness of the greens and lack of punitive bouncy fairways... it really was raining earlier and a lot of serious surface water had accumulated. As always, a competitive Tiger that doesn`t snap in half would be good to see, but other than that I wouldn`t mind if Bryson did something, or Jon Rahm.

Three days of Cheltenham start tomorrow however so I will be in close contact with my accountants of turf!! I`ve been a gambler in my day, but the Casino was my thing. I`ve been clean for a few years now ;)

I was over in March this year and it turned out to be one of the last mass spectator events to take place before lockdown. It is usually 4 days of madness - I bet more cash on those four days than I do in all my betting the rest of the year combined.Hopefully these next 3 days will give me clues towards potential winners in March.Sadly I am under no illusion that I will be attending in 2021, it will have to be TV only. It will be the first time in 10 years that I will have not attended the March festival. Edited November 12, 2020 by zepphead

From my perspective, I don`t need another sport I have sketchy knowledge of to bet on!

goose
Paul Casey at -7 thru 17. Not bad. Also going low so far: Simpson (-5), Matsuyama, Westwood, Oostie, and Schauffle, and some guy named Tiger (-4). Nova Carmina
I guess I have never seen this Wolff guy tee off before: wow, what a bizarre action. He could be a major league pitcher with that herky jerky motion! Still, any way you can crush a golf ball is a good way, and he's playing in Augusta while I'm watching on my computer, so good for him. My money is on "the field" and not the defending champ, so I'm hoping the opening round was Tiger's peak. (Nor did I bet on Chambeau, for that matter.) I expect complete Hogan-esque fluidity and weight transference, not all those elbows and cogs. With that swing apex, he clearly didn`t learn in the kind of narrow, low ceilinged driving range bays that I used to practice in. I suspect I will always want Tiger to win every tournament whilst we still have him around. Edited November 12, 2020 by IbanezJem

Seems his game is in good form. He had a good look at birdie on final hole #9, too, but just missed.

If Tiger`s kicking around within 2 or 3 strokes on Sunday morning, that would be great. I wonder if the field - that largely missed peak Tiger - have learnt to cope with his name on the board?
