Entre_Perpetuo
Personally, as many might feel that "anniversary" releases are feeling tired, my feeling is Moving Pictures should very much be re-released as a 40th. It was said to be their big break-out, and the songs within the album are very popular. Why stop at any album? Please release them all (unless costs are unreasonable). Unless data shows sales are not worth it, yes do keep continuing with the releases. ...but...I would hope for very detailed descriptions of the moments, the scenes of recordings, the inside sharing of experiences...at this point, it would make fans feel included. And please be mindful of "packaging", we don't want miniscule printing of lyrics let's be honest, subscriptions on bottles, cooking instructions on boxes, tiny warnings on the back of packages are useless. We are getting older :) Let's celebrate the age and music together: Give us the goods and let us add to our prized collections. Moving Pictures is an amazing album and deserves a 40th! PeW deluxe box came with nicely done full sheet copies of Neil's handwritten lyrics for three songs, so it would be cool for them to continue in that vein.
Entre_Perpetuo
I think stopping the 40th anniversary releases at some point would make sense, but certainly not quite yet. I think they should go through Signals at the very least, and really why not just go all the way through HYF, the last Rush album to go gold iirc. No - Last American Gold Record is T4E for a studio release (with every record in between HYF and T4E going Gold as well). In Canada every studio album through to the end, went Gold https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_discography Edited December 29, 2020 by taurus

Still, wasn't there a big dropoff in sales between HYF and Presto which didn't rebound for a few albums?

RtB sold very well- at 2 million I think.

I guess the more morbid way of putting it is I'm not sure they should continue making the anniversary boxes without Alex or Geddy around to help curate them. Bahamas
I have hung that calendar in the kitchen for a few weeks now (it includes 2020 September, October, November and December). It feels nostalgic and all, but I wish the monthly photos were different. They are all familiar photos of the guys. I would have loved different songs featured each month with associated art work: Witch Hunt, YYZ, etc. It could have been a Hugh Syme song-art collection. Still like it, though. capoetc
Since we already have remastered versions of the studio albums, I would be fine with just releasing any live shows available (over time) with the entire show.

OneZeroZero
I've really been enjoying Sean Magee's remasters, so I certainly hope we get at least a few more of them on CD, including MP.

78jazz
Unless an entire concert is included, I am out on a purchase of it. Since that has only happened with AFtK, I think I will be alright. Yes, I think I will buy the Pew set with a gift card I received for Christmas. Bahamas
Well, perhaps we can hope for 40th releases of albums, and not so much 40th releases of "live compilation" releases. Should there be 40th releases of studio "album-mixed" releases? I think they should be the actual studio albums. Edit: And for those wondering about Sean Magee, I cut and pasted the passage below from the wiki: Since coming to Abbey Road, Sean has won a Grammy for his contribution to the 2009 Beatles Remasters. He's worked with the music of some of the world's biggest names in pop, rock and jazz, including, Deep Purple, John Lennon, Ramones, Duke Ellington, Nina Simone, Tina Turner, The Sex Pistols and Public Image Limited. Renowned rock and blues guitarist Gary Moore worked with Sean on some of his final recordings, and in 2014, Sean was approached directly by legendary prog rock band Rush who wanted him to remaster their entire back catalogue. With a typical week encompassing anything from 1950s classical recordings to jazz box sets and 70s prog rock, Sean specialises in all-analogue vinyl cutting and is equally comfortable working with both traditional analogue and cutting-edge digital equipment to distil the best out of every project. Believing that no two jobs are ever the same, Sean's open-minded approach gives him a broader take on how differing genres should sound. He welcomes client attended sessions which enable artists to get involved in the mastering process and ensure they're happy with the result. currygoat11
It would be LAME if they seriously only pointed back to 2011 Moving Pictures Deluxe Edition (which is all SOLD OUT BY THE WAY) + a t-shirt and said "here ya go, let's celebrate Moving Pictures", a 4x platinum selling album. Moving Freaking Pictures !!! it would be like throwing birthday parties for your 97,98,99 year old grandfather, but spending the day in bed on his 100th.
