Yikes. There's no stopping the rock, is there?

I wanna pick Thin Lizzy as an emotional favorite, but I can't really claim it's better than Burn or Stormbringer or War Child or either KISS album or The Lamb Lies Down.

Oh, dear, I'm rambling again.

It's Burn.

King Crimson - Red

very close call with Relayer & Lamb Lies Down.

Also excellent: Crime of the Century, Starless and Bible Black, Queen II, Bridge of Sighs, Sheer Heart Attack, Pretzel Logic,

Kansas appears on the scene!

HOWEVER, you missed one released in 74 that would be in my top 20 all-time:

I had it in but I took it out. What I do is I open out the 40 options and I put certainties up in the high positions and maybes at the bottom. Then when all the slots are filled (and I get a bit worried) I have to remove some titles to make way for the ones that HAVE to be in. It's usually the ones at the bottom, the maybees that get ousted, occasionally it's an album that I had down as a certainty that goes out.

That's cool; obviously you choose different ones than I, or perhaps somebody else, would. I understand. This is fun!

Another year filled with really good releases! I am like Entre Perpetuo, it's very hard to decide because there are so many good ones.

I ended up voting for Bowie's Diamond Dogs as a sentimental favorite; I don't know if it is the best, but I've always loved it. Halfway between Ziggy and the Thin White Duke, Bowie is kind of trying to figure out who to be next and made an entertaining record.

Burn for a close second, then one of the Queen releases.

Frank Zappa - Apostrophe was voted 'best guitar album' of 1974 by Guitar Player Magazine.

There is also his stellar live album released in 1974

Aha you see Live albums, I don't include them, it's studio albums only. There's kind of exceptions where an album is half live and half new material like Night of the Living Dregs and Fandango but otherwise it's studio only for this series.

Now that I think about it, I think both albums were bundled together as one in the Guitar Player polls.

Here's one I wanted to put in just because of the cover...

Rush connection - there’s a song on that album called “Spindrift”

So you looked it up eh? :smoke:
