Well this would be hard if you'd left out the greatest thrash metal album of all time.

NEXT THING YOU KNOW, THEY'LL TAKE MY THOUGHTS AWAAAY!

Jane's Addiction - Ritual De Lo Habitual was voted 'best guitar album' of 1990 by Guitar Player Magazine.

These were the big hits from it below.

I definitely would’ve voted for this if it were on the poll.

duck, looks like you need to edit this poll too :hail:

AC/DC's Razor's Edge was a major comeback for them and it produced three hits that still get regular play in all kinds of contexts. The Black Crowes burst onto the scene with a classic debut that also produced three hit songs.

But Empire features the band at their peak, so it gets the nod from me.

Agreed that Ritual de lo Habitual gets the nod if listed.

Ah Via Musicom wins. Empire and Time’s Up got a lot of playtime from me in those days. I still regularly listen to Ah Via Musicom.

Ah via is the best EJ

Tough when you put it against Painkiller which, in my opinion, was a knock it out of the park moment for JP! I can't pick between those two! I do like Empire, Cowboys From Hell, Persistence of Time (which was way ahead of it's, er, time...). God! All these polls are maddening and addictive at the same time!!!!

Did you skip 1989 entirely? 1988 was part 9, 1990 is part 10. I mean, 89 was a shit year for me personally, but I'm sure there was some decent music released?

Don't worry about that. He's not doing these polls in any kind of order.

Empire, Ah Via Musicom, Rust in Peace (A great surprise comeback), Time's Up, Cowboys from Hell, Pornograffitti, Master Plan, Passion and Warfare were all in my rotation - but not as much as King's X Faith Hope Love. (which isn't in the poll)

I went with Passion and Warfare. Shredder album that actually had great dynamics and lots of variety. Chris Frazier killed it on drums; not to mention that dude on guitar too. lol.

Judging from several other entries, cheese metal also continued it's march toward the eventual grunge extinction.

Yep. Listen to the album a fair amount, mostly from the EJ comp file on my Mp3 player.

Listened a lot to Razor's Edge and Ritual de lo Habitual but the Black Crowes record was my favorite that year.

Wasn't there a good King's X release that year also? Faith, Hope, Love? I liked that one a lot also.
