A battle between Marillion and Anthrax

Seeing as I've only listened to the Marillion album a couple times (despite loving it), I'll go with Anthrax.

Good thing Power Windows is not on this list, for that would be my choice.

I am with Tinwoodsman: This is a lean year with these choices. I still have Afterburner, but I am unsure I will ever play it again.

It was quite a lean music year for me, the only album on the list that I bought was Brothers In Arms.

I was thinking the same. What a dip in quality from the other polls.

Overplayed, but Brothers in Arms gets the nod from me.

Interesting for me since by now I had strayed away from a lot of the prog and metal of my youth and was more in to punk/new wave, etc. I went with Dire Straits but my favorite album from 1985 is "This Is Big Audio Dynamite".

Easy - Misplaced Childhood. Masterpiece.

Power Windows obviously was very big for me too, lol.

Metal Fatigue is a great one - but got me much later. In 1985, I saw SRV and Heart in concert - but I preferred other albums of theirs. Megadeth had not really hit for me until Peace Sells. Anthrax was great. My GF liked Mr. Mister, so there's that nostalgia. I can appreciate Dire Straits, but they've never been that huge for me.

Metal Fatigue was my choice for a while before I voted but I just changed my mind at the end.
