Holy crap. I was just looking at these this morning on Amazon. The 13-incher was 8 grand! I was considering buying a 6 or 8 inch model with the stimulus/ tax return money but even those are more than I want to spend.

I was tempted to get an 11” scope, but settled for the 8”. I got a good strong mount in case I decide to get an 11” or 14” in the future.

I had a cheap basic telescope when I was 12, and ever since then, I’ve dreamed of getting a REAL telescope. Well, now I’m getting one! Can’t wait to hook up my camera and take some tasty photos!

Are you talking about a telescope or a penis extension?

Off to a good start! The mount and tripod are heavy. There will be no simple "grab and go" when I'm transporting this thing! :o

It's been about two months since I bought it. Due to uncooperative weather and too many projects around the house, I haven't been able to use it much.

This summer will be different! Jupiter, Saturn and Mars will be dazzling the evening sky. I had to get up at 2:30 am to see them this morning, and they were awesome. The waning quarter moon was also great. I bought some moon filters, which work really well.

No pictures yet, but they're coming! Patience is a Jedi virtue.... :D

Any chance yet to see the multi-planet line up before sunrise these days? The moons of Jupiter are apparently very visible.

"Before sunrise" is obviously very early to be up, but curious!

I can get Jupiter's moons, as distinct bright pixels, with a 210MM zoom on top of a Nikon D7200.    I would LOVE to see them from this telescope.  Hint, hint, hint.
