GLENN TIPTON, ROB HALFORD And RICHIE FAULKNER Are Working On Music For Next JUDAS PRIEST Album

JUDAS PRIEST members Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner have commenced the official songwriting sessions for the band's follow-up to "Firepower" album. Released in March 2018, "Firepower" was the second LP to feature the 40-year-old Faulkner, who was selected to fill the void left by founding guitarist K.K. Downing following his exit in 2011.

Earlier today (Monday, February 3), Faulkner tweeted a photo of the trio from the studio and included the following caption: "Giving birth to new metal babies. #judaspriest writing sessions 2020 with grand master Tipton and the Mg RHRF DOTF #forgingthesteel"

Last month, Faulkner said that he had "a ton of ideas" for PRIEST's next disc. He added: "We just have to get together and see what metal magic we can create"

I thought Firepower was good, but not great- but maybe I should listen to it some more.

Anybody else have to warm up to it, or is it just me?

Me! But I totally enjoyed it. It just didn't blow me away like older fans. Maybe because it came out around the time I was listening to the classics for the first time.

Impossible. I can happily tell you several number ones and other exceptional albums...that enough?

Firepower was a good return to form. IDK if I'd put it in my top 5, but it does rank far above some of the other recent material, IMHO.
