Equality 7-2521
I recently rediscovered the Presto album, and there was one track that particularly stood out to me: The PassStatic on your frequencyElectrical storm in your veinsRaging at unreachable gloryStraining at invisible chains And now you're trembling on a rocky ledgeStaring down into a heartless seaCan't face life on a razor's edgeNothing's what you thought it would be All of us get lost in the darknessDreamers learn to steer by the starsAll of us do time in the gutterDreamers turn to look at the carsTurn around and turn around and turn aroundTurn around and walk the razor's edgeDon't turn your backAnd slam the door on me...It's not as if this barricadeBlocks the only roadIt's not as if you're all aloneIn wanting to explodeSomeone set a bad exampleMade surrender seem all rightThe act of a noble warriorWho lost the will to fight...And now you're trembling on a rocky ledgeStaring down into a heartless seaDone with life on a razor's edgeNothing's what you thought it would be...No hero in your tragedyNo daring in your escapeNo salutes for your surrenderNothing noble in your fateChrist, what have you done?

Such a fantastic song. Everything is just put together perfectly in it. I seem to recall an interview or something where Neil said it was one of the hardest songs for him to write the lyrics to since he never experienced suicidal thoughts before. I think he ended up nailing it pretty well though.

Airship2112
If the future's looking dark we're the ones who have to shine, If there's no one in control we're the ones who draw the line, though we live in trying times we're the ones who have to try, though we know time has wings we're the ones who have to fly.

Bahamas
These will just make me cry again.I recently embarked on a crafting journey to look at all the lyrics, read them like journal entries, or listen to the music and not have to open every little CD (if they even include the lyrics) and better album size coverage. An at-a-glance understanding of not just him, but the band. No matter how often you have read them, the Anthem section is like a book, you just click and read. Awesome! kfsutops
My two favorite lines that I have quoted most in my life are: If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. - To me this says so much. I can't pretend a stranger is a long-awaited friend - I know most people love this song, and at it's core I do as well. I always felt people came to Rush because of these songs and missed out on so much more.
