3 Favorite VH Songs

There are no wrong answers here. Unless you pick Van Hagar songs. I like them too, but nothing they released with Hagar belongs in the top 3. Or 30.

Sapiosexuals love the Sammy stuff.

I'm afraid to look that up.

EDIT: In case anyone else here is as ignorant, here's what I found:

One who finds the content's of someone else's mind to be their most attractive attribute, above and before their physical characteristics. From the Latin root "sapien", meaning wise.

Impressive! :)

I've never come across that word that I remember. Learn something new every day.

No wonder why Dave sounded so good. It's Sammy singing the song:

I just saw Sammy a couple of months ago. He STILL sounds great.

They sure did have a lot of energy back then. There's nothing like being young and thinking you're invincible.

Or being Keith Richards and actually being invincible. :16ton:

2. I'll Wait

Did Lorraine put you up to this?

I got a real kick out of that. It was very funny.

Must be an 'inside' joke. I don't get it.

ORFie, I love I'll Wait too. Goose hates it.

I'd make one exception to this... the song 5150 would likely make my Top 10.

Certainly one of the best Hagar era songs.

Jump

I'll wait (my personal favorite DLR vocal)

Another I'll Wait lover!!!

All of the songs you mentioned are good.

As for DLR and his voice, I think his best vocals are on the debut album. Many here say he can't sing, but I think he can.

I think he's a great rock singer ... and probably one of the top 3 front men ever, along with freddie mercury and steven tyler

No doubt about him being born to be on stage.

Just wanted to add that the little intro to Jump - 1984 - is, to me, beautiful. Eddie is exceedingly talented.

He is aces on keyboards.

You're right. I'll fix it. How embarrassing. Thanks for telling me.

I'm listening to it right now and didn't even notice it.

This song epitomizes Van Halen's appeal to me - those chords man - that feeling of longing that runs deep through their early catalog. And thatlocked live groove Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony had on those early recordings.

that all got so lost...
