Top 3 Worst Rush for me. Probably, #2.

You can dance to it though. :dweez:

No I can't. It'll just make me want to go into a quiet alley and kick some garbage cans over that're filled with broken glass and aluminum cans.

I can whistle the riff, it's pretty easy. :musicnote:

Why would you want to whistle to that? Try Dreamline. It's a much better tune.

"So tell me please WHY do these people HATE "Roll The Bones"?" (song)

Since you asked... it's not catchy at all; rather, the clumsy, stumbling riff is distressing, like Kajagoogoo with less groove (when you resemble Kajagoogoo but are arguably worse, that's as bad as it gets). The lyrics lack any poetry at all, another hackneyed addition to the "What I Believe" catalog of Neil songs. While the rap doesn't offend me one bit, as rap, it's a really awful attempt at rap, even being tongue-in-cheek. The Rupert Hine production, on this track at least, is like nails on a chalkboard; no gravitas, just irritating. Just a train wreck of a song. But if someone likes it, great, more power to them.

All right, you sons of bitches, you know how I feel. I'll be proud to defend Terry Brown Rush anytime, anywhere. That's all. (Borrowing from Patton)

The only songs I like on RTB are Bravado, Heresy, and You Bet Your Life even though the arrangement of the last of that group is heavily derived from We Didn't Start the Fire. The rest is meh to just plain bad. How Neurotica made it on the album is a True Rush Mystery. I'm not the biggest fan of the production job but the songwriting is the main issue here.

Because it's pansy rock crossed with white boi pseudo-hip hop performed in mock-nerd-trying to be cool but not cool-style. And you still have that Rubert Hine production with the drums sounding like tupperware and cardboard.

Isn't "pansy rock" what Air Supply used to play?

That's fagg rock, sometimes known as Faggle Rock.

Then, who would be in pansy rock?

U2

Steel Pansy

That is absolutely the worst Rush song ever released.

In my opinion, of course.

It had been my absolute worst up until that yodeling song on Snakes & Arrows came out

"yodeling song on Snakes & Arrows came out"...

Would that be The Larger Bowl? The Woah-oh-oh-oh... part? Apart from that bit, I love that tune. I could have done without the Woah-oh though.

"The most we could agree on...is it could've been wooOOOorrrRRRrrrseeee......"

Dear sweet Jesus, how is this the same band that played that absolutely incredible By Tor/In The End/In The Mood/2112 medley at the end of the Exit video???

That's how it is.....

I put on most of Bones yesterday while doing some office work at home. Its not unlistenable, even the lesser songs. I can easily get through RTB start to finish unlike later albums from VT to CA which are a chore. The problem was mostly Rupert's weak-ass production job. There is no grit or power or balls to almost any of it

RTB and VT are both Alex's worst guitar albums but for completely opposite reasons. And its not his playing that's the issue, it's his choice of tone and place in the mix: On RTB his guitars are paper thin tinny and pulled back in the mix, on Vapor Trails his tone is wildly overdistorted thick and overbearing over everything else.

Why pick on just the song, when (generally speaking) the overall ALBUM is one of their absolute weakest?

"Dreamline" is one of their greatest tracks, but beyond that I think the album pretty much blows. Same with S&A: an awesome lead-off track ("Far Cry") followed by lots of blah. In my OPINION, of course.
