The Beatles

Van Halen

Black Sabbath

Rush

The Rolling Stones

I want to put Soundgarden on the list, but It’s hard to bump any of those bands.

No Aerosmith?

They were the other one I tried to find a spot for.

I'll be honest, I thought your list would be:

Aerosmith

Boston

The Cars

Dropkick Murphys

NKOTB

With Loggins and Messina missing out only because so few of their songs were about inviting people to come to Boston. (I think they did that song, and I'm too lazy to look it up.)

I don't really love Boston the band, to be honest, although I, like everyone I suspect, enjoy their debut album. Love The Cars, and the Murphys are a fun live act. New Kids weren't really my style, and I was either in high school or college when they broke.

Reminding me once again that I sorely need to get on to listening more to Black Sabbath.

Start with Paranoid. That'll tell you if you like the Ozzy era. If you do, I think you'll enjoy everything up to Technical Ecstasy the most. I like Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die!, but casual fans aren't always into them.

I would test the Dio era first with Heaven and Hell. You like the heavier stuff, so if you like H&H you will enjoy Mob Rules and Dehumanizer. They released an album in 2009 as Heaven and Hell entitled The Devil You Know. I like it, but I think you have to be a Dio era fan to do so.

The Ian Gillan era (Born Again), Glenn Hughes era (Seventh Star), Ray Gillen era (only available with The Eternal Idol deluxe edition) and Tony Martin era have some good material, but I don't think they're on par with the Ozzy or Dio eras, and they're not really Sabbath to me.

OK, I did look it up and it was not Loggins and Messina, or Kenny Loggins solo, but Dave Loggins who wrote "Please Come to Boston". The album was called "Apprentice (In a Musical Workshop)" . Way to stereotype and date yourself, Dave.

Leaving Rush out:

1) Skinny Puppy

2) Pavement

3) The Nation Of Ulysses

4) The Birthday Party

5) Godflesh

Someone tried to get me into The Birthday Party but to no avail, Nick on the other hand was a different story.

Yeah they're pretty out there. Kind of 'drunk pirate orgy with the bearded lady at the circus freakshow' type music haha

A top 10 is manageable.

G'n R is the Tony C of rock, with Axl as Jack Hamilton.

Credit where it’s due. That is a GREAT analogy.

Thanks...it really is amazing what kind of pace Conigliaro was on before the injury. He had better career Triple Crown stats than players 3-4 years older, Hall of Fame players. The beaning was a true tragedy.

There's a doc on the 67 Sawx on MLB network that you'd enjoy. Can't remember what it's called though.
