Ok, I have found a guilty pleasure. Playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, I have fallen in love with the soundtracks of some of the Emotion 98.3 station, some of the Flash station, most of the Wave 103 station and of course the VRock station.

Emotion 98.3 playlist:

Foreigner - Waiting For A Girl Like You

Kate Bush - Wow

Squeeze - Tempted

REO Speedwagon - Keep On Loving You

Cutting Crew - (I Just) Died In Your Arms

Roxy Music - More Than This

Toto - Africa

Mr. Mister - Broken Wings

John Waite - Missing You

Jan Hammer - Crokett's Theme

Night Ranger - Sister Christian

Luther Vandross - Never Too Much

Wave 103 playlist:

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Two Tribes

Sugie Sugie Sputnik - Love Missle F1-11

Gary Numan - Cars

The Human League - (Keep Feeling) Fascination

Blondie - Atomic

Nena - 99 Luftballons

Kim Wilde - Kids In America

Tears For Fears - Pale Shelter

Corey Hart - Sunglasses At Night

ABC - Poison Arrow

A Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran (So Far Away)

The Psychedelic Furs - Love My Way

Animotion - Obsession

Spandau Ballet - Gold

Thomas Dolby - Hyperactive

Romeo Void - Never Say Never

Flash playlist:

Hall & Oates - Out Of Touch

Wang Chung- Dance Hall Days

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean

Laura Branigan - Self Control

Go West - Call Me

INXS - Kiss The Dirt (Falling Down The Mountain)

Bryan Adams - Run To You

Electric Light Orchestra - Four Little Diamonds

Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart

The Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star

Aneka - Japanese Boy

Talk Talk - Life's What You Make It

The Outfield - Your Love

Joe Jeckson Stepping Out

The Fixx - One Thing Leads To Another

VROCK playist:

Twisted Sister - I Wanna Rock

Motley Crue - Too Young To Fall In Love

Quiet Riot - Cum On Feel The Noise

The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary

Ozzy Osbourne - Bark At The Moon

*Rockstar's Lovefist - Dangerous Bastard

Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes To Midnight

Loverboy - Working For The Weekend

Alcatrazz - God Bless Video

Tesla - Cumin' Atcha Live

Autograph - Turn Up The Radio

Medadeth - Peace Sells

Anthrax - Madhouse

Slayer - Raining Blood

Judas Priest - You've Got Another Thing Comin'

*Rockstar's Lovefist - Fist Fury

David Lee Roth - Yankee Rose

Most of these songs I have come to know by heart by playing this game so long. Some I hated at first and then grew to love simply because of the game. There are quite a few up there I should be ashamed of, lol. Sorry for the long post, but Rockstar definatly outdid themselves with this game by adding in all this music from the 80's to make the game really feel like it takes place during that time.

*Rockstar's Lovefist is a fictitous band in the game that plays a part of the story. During one scene in the game, the drummer is refered to as The Professor for diffusing a car bomb (where have I heard this before)

Nice, moon. Love that game...I have completed 99% of it...I'm stuck on one lousy stunt jump! I was going to start a thread about the upcoming GTA: San Andreas!

Heh, took me a while but I got 100%, that Apache Helichopter (spelled correctly #$!% it laugh.gif) is a lot of fun to fly around and shoot things with.

Lol sorry, I rather liked my post though tongue.gif

It was quite nice, and informative, too. icon_really_happy_guy.gif

You pad your post-count, I pad my post-count. You're never gonna catch me this way! icon_really_happy_guy.gif

Lol, thats not my intention, slow and steady wins the race.

Getting back on topic, I think all the best guitar/singer duos have been put up, how about the best guitar/singers as the same person?

I am rather fond of:

Pete Townshend - The Who, solo stuffs

David Gilmour - Pink Floyd

Paul McCartney or John Lennon, either works - The Beatles

Jon Anderson (to an extent, I saw him play guitar sarcasm.gif ) - Yes

Ian Anderson - Jethro Tull

Curt Kobain - Nirvana

Brad Nowell - Sublime

Jimi Hendrix - Himself

I'm sure you all can find more.

I haven't even seen his name brought up yet so how about Syd Barret and Syd Barret. Syd's voice was so good and when he joined the band in '65' Water's was told to start playing bass so Syd could play guitar. Original Pink Floyd IMO is still way better than anything released since then, except maybe Animals. Syd could also play a wide array of other instruments, I think on 'Live at Pompeii' he only plays piano with very wide eyes.

What about Steve Vai...or Randy Rhoads.. 2 GREAT guitarists!

The angel.gif Immortal Randy Rhoads angel.gif was mentioned in the first post w/ Ozzy.

Vai is great, but who would he be paired with? David Lee Roth maybe? He did one album with him I think...

We've slipped slightly off-thread here. We're trying to compile a list of the best lead guitarist/lead vocalist (non-main-instrument playing) combo.

I forget though, are we also adding best dual lead guitarists to this or will that be a separate thread? The Allman Bros. Band would be a good addition to that list.

This doesn't really fit the criteria, since Boston had (has?) two guitarists, but I've always been partial to Brad Delp and Tom Scholz.

Ok, here's a few. (It's amazing how much you can recall AFTER the fact of a brain-storming session.)

Pat Benatar/Neil Geraldo (let's not forget the ladies)
David Bowie/Mick Ronson (see above  laugh.gif )
Ray Davies/Dave Davies of The Kinks
Rod Stewart/Ron Wood of The Faces

Ok, I guess we should consider-

Jon Anderson/Steve Howe

- because Jon is definitely a lead singer/frontman, and although Steve works primarily within the framework of the Yes ensemble, he is definitely a guitar legend (and darn old-looking, too! Have you seen this dude lately?  ohmy.gif  laugh.gif )

I saw Yes a couple of months ago and Steve looked ANCIENT! Gordie Howe looks younger than him... rofl3.gif

P.S. for those of u who don't know who Gordie Howe is, he's a Hall of Fame hockey player who is now 80 i believe...
