Anathema's "The Optimist!" Do You Dig?

Recommended Posts

Picked up the latest cd release by Anathema. It's very surreal with that typical Anathema melodic synth landscape.

Does anyone else on here dig this release????

It's cool prog fans. The digipak had a PROG MAG sticker on it claiming it's a brilliant album.

I had to get it!

So far so good!

Warning: The female vocal parts on this record are quite mellow. But cool.

Warning?

I never should have wrote this thread while listening half way through the record.

It has it's moments but yes, sorry.

Her name must be Anathema!

Kind of funny Pat.

The word "Anathema" means to really dislike something.

Should be my middle name! LOL!

Great album, full of fantastic music to lean back and just relax. Sounds almost perfect to me, but I'm not a fan of that "hidden track" thing at the end.

I like it, but I'm with Stupid - I liked Distant Satellites, We're Here Because We're Here, and especially Weather Systems more.

I thought it was fairly boring and disappointing. Some good tracks, but nothing that had the similar kind of impact that Distant Satellites had. And the last song is the most boring, drawn out song on the album. It borders on filler. I think San Francisco, Springfield, and Can't Let Go are the best tracks on the album.
