The mighty whitey saves the day

But I love that film!

EDIT: I didn't see the first two pix. I enjoy The Last Samurai (Cruise was badly miscast as always) but I LOVE The Help.

Fear not Segue, there are countless examples of movies and music I love that are riddled with clichés !!!

The flip side of that is the 'magical negro' that imparts wisdom, etc. which helps the white star of a movie. Examples include: The Family Man, What Dreams May Come, The Legend Of Bagger Vance and The Green Mile.

Actually in Dances With Wolves, the Mighty Whitey was rescued by the natives, made things worse for them, and took it upon himself to leave taking the only other whitey with him. But I get your point. ;)

In almost every movie with "heroes" and explosions...the hero will get caught up in an explosion as in be close enough to it to be knocked away from it, roll over, wince, get up and walk away. No harm done.

Oh, also, getting shot in the arm. Piece of cake.

"I have GOT to get me one of THESE!"

- Will Smith in 50% of his movies!

100% cheesedick!

;)

I liked how Gary Oldman said that after seeing the Batmobile in Batman Begins. I think Christopher Nolan was having a bit of fun with that cliche.

Yeah, I thought a similar thing when i saw that the first time, especially when said from a respected actor as Oldman

Any quick escape by auto that involves a three point turn will also involve hitting one or more garbage cans.

definitely !!

And the running / driving chase thru crowded city streets that will inevitably knock over a fruit cart

With time running out some type of device needs to be deactivated or turned off. It is located on some kind of catwalk or tower and the control panel is universal.

On any doomsday clock, the final 60 seconds will take 12.5 minutes to elapse to allow for last-minute expressions of love, regret, affirmation and the lead character's tag phrase.

Especially in slow motion and in the end of a sports movie. Major League, League Of Their Own And Rookie of the Year are guilty of this.

The hero is tall, dark and handsome. The villain is a blond man.

Children see ghosts and demons that no one else sees.

Teens in horror movies making out at the cemetery.

Something bad always happens in the shower or the basement.

There is always a scene of some kind at the high school prom.

The guy ends up with the wallflower and ditches the pretty girl who screwed him over.

"We're not so different, you and I."

(Bad guys show up.) "We've got company!"

"Don't you die on me!"

"Is that all you've got?!"

"I was born ready."

"Shut up and kiss me."

"I don't like this."
