Alien Girl
Ok, branching off from the 'Big Money' thread... A few of you know my loathing for Middletown Dreams and Emotion detector. I think the lyrics dreams flow across the heartland or When we lift the covers from our feelings are about as cheesy as they come. Which lyrics strike the cheesy cord for you?

Lucas
I like that show Where they solve all the murders That heroic point of view It’s got justice and vengeance too At least, so the story goes I like that story –Makes a satisfying case But there’s a messy point of view That’s sadly just as true For so many among us http://www.gifbin.com/bin/022012/1330361789_trampoline_double_fail.gif

I always thought the cheesiest part of Dog Years was the line about chasing cars in doggie heaven. I like Dog Years more than most, not so much because of the lyrics though. I just think the main riffs are bitchin'.

goose
Time Stand Still. The entire song is a heaping mound of cheese. I'm surprised. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they didn't like the lyrics. First time for everythingWhere's the cheese here...? I turn my back to the windTo catch my breath,Before I start off again.Driven on,Without a moment to spendTo pass an eveningWith a drink and a friend I let my skin get too thinI'd like to pause,No matter what I pretendLike some pilgrim-Who learns to transcend-Learns to liveAs if each step was the end Time stand still-I'm not looking backBut I want to look around me nowSee more of the peopleAnd the places that surround me now Freeze this moment a little bit longerMake each sensation a little bit strongerExperience slips away... I turn my face to the sunClose my eyes.Let my defences down-All those woundsThat I can't get unwound I let my past go too fastNo time to pause-If I could slow it all downLike some captain,Whose ship runs aground-I can wait until the tide comes around Make each impression a little bit strongerFreeze this motion a little bit longerThe innocence slips away... Summer's going fast,Nights growing colderChildren growing up-Old friends growing olderExperience slips away...

vaportrailer
A Fistful of Cheese: "We are strangers by one chromosome." Is this about Down Syndrome? "Sex is not a job description.""I wasn't walking on water." All right, what were you doing then? You better not have been standing on a reef because that's just stupid...oh, I see."I've got...a buddha's smile...". No. No you don't. You've got an African hat."Aztec and Maya dance around my totem pole." The Aztec would rip out a living heart and then play baseball with it for a lyric like that. http://www.latinamericanstudies.org/aztecs/aztecs40.gif"Leave us out of your crass couplets, scribe."
