Recommended Posts

- Quella Vecchia Locanda ( Cyclonus X1 and Blue J )

- Änglagård ( Chronos )

- Psychotic Waltz ( GreyFriar )

- Fleet Foxes ( Segue )

I've also gained a new appreciation for Bob Dylan and The Boss while here ...

Some of the better discussions here can be very inspiring as far as finding new things ..

Everyone should be a fan of Fleet Foxes.

Honestly I can't think of any. I already listen to a large variety of music so most of the stuff suggested I've already heard or listened to regularly at some point.

I've actually gotten deeper into 70's Rush because of TRF. I'm now much more into Caress of Steel for example.

I've given bands like Megadeth and Mastodon more of a look.

I guess mine would be psychotic waltz ( greyfriar)

I will also say this place made me give dream theater a closer listen....

Still pissed about that lol

But this place really helped me to get into bootlegs

Oh yeah, add Riverside and Anathema...

Those are 2 good ones

hey dj, do you remember when we were talking about retro/electronic stuff ?? ... I remember being inspired to go to youtube and that;s where I first heard a whole lotta new stuff that I love ... Perturbator, Carpenter Brut

I can't quite remember what prompted us talking about it tough

Glad to see Blue J helped introduce some of you to the Black Crowes--a most misunderstood, but deeply rewarding band. My all-time favorite group.

I got a lot of help with Yes here. I was already interested, and had always liked the radio hits. But fellow TRF members helped me really explore Yes. And Close to the Edge became a top-five, truly life-changing album for me.

I think TRF members helped me with King Crimson, too.

I sure do, thats probably another good example!

I stumbled across some of the retro synth wave from a online post in metal reader called synthwave sunday. But you gave me quite a few more to go on

How we got on that subject to begin with i have no idea lol

Not as many as you would think. Porcupine Tree and Budgie.

Me too exactly. And Budgie's been one of my favorite bands for years now :)

Because of all the interesting discussion here, I have begun to revisit a lot of the more modern Rush that I had foolishly brushed off ..

Yup, this. Forum discussions also lead me to revisit Kansas awhile ago, and Yes recently, which has brought me great joy.
