Entre_Perpetuo Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 The Cars and Duran Duran for millennials!I’m obsessed with Springsteen, U2 and Meat Loaf!Lead single with a weird lyric based on a Hunter S Thompson quote. We’re slowly starting to sound like our imitators. We’ve gone full Imagine Dragons. Please get back to your old selves with your album out this month. The Killers, except the new album has just been delayed. iTunes now lists it's expected release date as....December 31st 2020. :( Van Weezer as well. 2020 doesn’t suck. No no no...it swallows. Probably my two most looked forward to albums of the year so far. Such a shame. 1

It’s scheduled for the last Friday of May. Lot of Rhino reissues have been pushed back in the past year as well since last fall. Edited May 9, 2020 by invisible airwave
Entre_Perpetuo Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 what happens when you mash Jeff Buckley drama and falsetto with Nirvana dynamics and angst? And if we focus and add a healthy dose of prog? Let's write some catchier songs but loose none of the drama Let's really start branching out into more pop and electronica and rnb and prog and get some actual radio hits Bigger, more epic, more disparate genres, embrace the Queen-isms, and add an epic symphonic rock finale Let's see how many different bands we can imitate and get away with it, while also scoring our biggest hit thanks to a dash of dubstep We need to get back to our roots, so more heavy guitars and apocalyptic concepts, but also plenty of 80s cheese That was depressing, let's just make a record of glitzy, mindless, synthy pop rock tunes with a full 80s aesthetic, and an extra disk of weirder versions. 1
invisible airwave Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Debut album with a song about Ian Curtis.Name of monthSong about the first day of a month. Our first top 40 hit and it’s about a civil rights leader. Two straight number ones and a Grammy. We’re obsessed with America, made a documentary and have new and live recordings! Singer shows a big ego covering Beatles and Hendrix. Our best album of the 90s with a new huge Bowie influence and an iconic tour.Similar sound with a stage persona called Mephisto.Same danceable beats of the other two except it really sucks.Comeback album and songs become more relevant a year later in 911.Let’s count from 1-3 to 14 in Spanish! We’re slowly turning into a boring Coldplay rip-off.Free album on iTunes! Yay! But it sucks! Boo!We’ve officially gone full Maroon 5/Imagine Dragons/Coldplay.

If the clues are too obscure it's not as much fun. 2

I quite like A Moon Shaped Pool though.

grep Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 (edited) Roughly produced but twin flying V's sound amazing.More polished but still heavy as f**k. Amazing bassist.Pseudo-prog heavy. Deep in the politics. An amazing heavy record even with no bottom end. We really wanted that one guy to produce this, he's forgot he has a bottom end too.Trying for shorter songs. Not Permanent Waves. Still a classic.5 years off and we suck. These are the songs that didn't make the last album. Sucks even more. When you thought we couldn't suck any more than we already did.Decent comeback. We think so. Even has a long instrumental. Yeah! Pretty sure someone wrote these songs for us.Another decent record. Kind of sounds like the old stuff. Someone must've wrote these songs for us too. grep Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 (edited) Amazing first record. Made you forget about Randy for 10 minutes. This is good, but still kind of sounds the same. Getting a little boring already. Randy would have been more interesting with this style.Live record - meh. Let's try some Hendrix and make it sound like a robot is playing it. A broken robot. The rest isn't even worth mentioning. It's sounded the same for 35 years. Really makes you miss Randy. Edited June 5, 2020 by grep 2
