The Spirit of Radio

Natural Science

Limelight

Mission

Subdivisions

Entre Nous

The Weapon

Territories

Digital Man

Red Barchetta

This actually wasn't too hard for me. It helps that I can basically rule out GUP, PoW, and HYF.

What do you mean? You've got Mission and Territories listed.

Well, I knew automatically I'd name only those 2 songs and would have no need to think further about those albums ( I like plenty of songs, just nothing close to top 10).

Ah. Gotcha.

Territories cracks my top 10, the only one off PoW to do so.

Mission doesn't make it but it's my favorite off HYF.

This one's almost impossible .. To leave out such tracks as Entre Nous, Marathon, Subdivisions, The Cameray Eye, Middletown Dreams ... Shows just how amazing the band was during this period. So much extremely strong material!

I don't know . . . the last great Rush albums of the 70s paired with the so-different-sounding records of the 80s. Mine would all probably come from the first three also. I like and even love some of the tunes on those later albums, but not enough to crowd out all those great ones.

I do like this song a lot. It has a "light" feeling and the lyrics prevail. The meaning is good. To me, it relates a lot with The Spirit of Radio and Turn The Page.

I could easily put Vital Signs on my list. In fact, if I made a list right now it would be on it. It's futile, really.

The Spirit of Radio

Freewill

Natural Science

YYZ

Limelight

Vital Signs

Countdown

Between the Wheels

Manhattan Project

Marathon

Force Ten

Open Secrets

Lock and Key

That's another thirteen, just like I did in the debut through Hemispheres thread. And again, I can't narrow it down any more than this. So sue me.

Who's up for Round 3?

Presto through T4E.

Dreamline

The Pass

Cut to the Chase

Bravado

Presto

Animate

Driven

Dog Years

Carve away the Stone

War Paint

Should make that another thread and include Presto-CA, 7 albums. Besides, both of the other threads had 6 albums to choose from

7 albums is just way too many in my view. I think the "modern era" albums can stand alone..SA,VT,CA.

But we've been doing it with 6 albums already. And 7 makes it harder...which makes you think harder, which is better.

I'm dividing them up based on what I feel is the best divide.

We can all disagree but I think VT to CA is its own era.

I'd even argue that CA stands alone.

VT - CA IS its own era. I was thinking of it in sheer bulk of albums.

Era-wise, I wouldn't put PeW with HYF but you've placed it as such. I also wouldn't have placed Rush with Hemispheres if you're talking about era specific. This is where the "what you feel" comes into play and it's not actually about era after all. I get it.

Top 10 songs for CA alone! ;)

PeW through HYF has a steady and easy to note progression. I think if you took both albums and put them next to each other they don't fit but with everything in between they do
