No arguing about whether Permanent Waves counts or not! This isn't labelled "seventies", I'm just curious about what you guys would rank as top ten from these albums:

Rush

Fly By Night

Caress Of Steel

2112

A Farewell To Kings

Hemispheres

We have tonnes of these threads. But to know what? I haven't played Rush properly in months. I'd like too change that!

Let's start celebrating the music we love!

These records I think are tough as their are so many classics.

There's something about this run of albums that I find very "winter" and comforting. By that I mean that they are all (speaking only for myself of course) albums that give me the comfort of winter. They are like a warm blanket and a hot cup of soup in front of fireplace with a good fire going on a wintry night.

That's interesting. I think of Rush-2112 as spring, fresh & powerful & new. AFTK-Hemispheres + all the way up to MP I think of summer, thoughtful & fun with plenty of vitality.

Yes. Caress Of Steel for me especially. That album is unique and is just pure escapism! I find a lot of comfort in that release.
