He posted a picture of Thunderbirds he must've recently acquired on Instagram with the caption "Sometimes you just have to throw some love at some basses that I've overlooked for years...super cool 64 reverse Tbirds in Pelham Blue, Kerry Green, Ember Red, Heather Mist Poly, Frost Blue etc." I wouldn't mind hearing him play one on a new solo record :) Edited by DirkPrattLerxst

Considering he played a couple of them on the last tour it shouldn't be a real surprise.

He played a little of everything last tour. Isn't this a Hofner?

Great big bastards them basses.Had a mid 70s reissue years ago,like hauling around a double bass.Martin Turner of Wishbone Ash always played one

Don't like the look, the feel or the tone! So many better instruments out there!

 

I don't think they look too bad and IMO they were some of the best sounding basses used on R40, but I do think the ergonomics are lacking.
