Musical Instruments You Play

  1. The star of UK TV shows The Sweeney, Minder, New Tricks and On the Up. Also Colditz. He also in films like Scars of Dracula with Christopher Lee and Up the Junction.
  2. It's official: JUDAS PRIEST will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year. PRIEST will receive the Musical Excellence Award at the event, which will honor Eminem, Dolly Parton, DURAN DURAN, Lionel Richie, Pat Benatar, EURYTHMICS and Carly Simon in the Performers category. The award for Musical Excellence — which was originally titled the "Sidemen" category when it debuted — is given to artists, musicians, songwriters and producers whose originality and influence creating music have had a dramatic impact on music. Back in 2010, when the Sidemen category was renamed the award for Musical Excellence, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation president Joel Peresman told The Plain Dealer the category "gives us flexibility to dive into some things and recognize some people who might not ordinarily get recognized." JUDAS PRIEST is the second band to receive the award for Musical Excellence; the E STREET BAND was the first. Last year, late OZZY OSBOURNE and QUIET RIOT guitarist Randy Rhoads was one of the recipients of the Musical Excellence Award. According to the Hall Of Fame, the JUDAS PRIEST members that will get inducted include current members Rob Halford (vocals),Ian Hill (bass),Glenn Tipton (guitar) and Scott Travis (drums),along with former members K.K. Downing (guitar),Les Binks (drums) and late drummer Dave Holland. "Wow, this is so exciting — at last. At last, you know?" Halford told Billboard after receiving the news before the public announcement. "And, glory hallelujah, there's another metal band in the Hall Of Fame! That's the blessing we've all been waiting for." The induction ceremony will be held on November 5, 2022 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. It will air at a later date on HBO and stream on HBO Max. There will also be a radio simulcast on SiriusXM's Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Radio channel 310.
  3. The one in Bad Motor Scooter or the one in Red Barchetta? So it's Sammy Hagar's girlfriend's daddy's farm or the guy in Red Barchetta's uncle's farm. We don't get enough farms in ROCK, that's why I'm asking this kind of abstract question! There is no logic in this, it's a feel thing.
  4. Can Mickey Rourke get his real face back in time for his 70th birthday? Or is he too far gone? Maybe if he just cuts out the silly haircuts and weird outfits he can look like Mickey Rourke again? Is the real Mickey Rourke still out there?
  5. I bought this album back in the day and thought it was pretty good. Well-recorded, pretty good song-list, had almost all the F.U.C.K. album tracks included etc. I mean yeah it's Van Hagar but it's still good.
  6. Is Dave Mustaine still bitter about being kicked out of Metallica? Especially since Hetfield is worth $300 million, Lars is worth $350 million, Hammett is worth $200 million and Dave is only worth a paltry $18 million. 18 million dollars is not to be sniffed at but it's nothing compared to his former bandmates! In fact it looks like a joke on Dave from the metal gods! No wonder Mustaine always looks angry! :16ton:
  7. I've really gone off this channel for some reason. I'm not sure what it is, maybe it's the "Hudson Valley Squares" segment? I hardly watch it now.
  8. The album is called Closure/Continuation and the new song is called Heavy Metal Noise...ah no Of the New Day:
  9. I've changed my mind on Test For Echo vs Snakes & Arrows, I think T4E is slightly weaker, it's a toss-up, but Presto is still the weakest RUSH album for me. Either way these three are the bottom of the RUSH barrel the way I see it. Which is the best of the bunch though?
  10. This is the vote in Totem Polls that was started back in 2004. So this doesn't include Snakes & Arrows and Clockwork Angels. And remember each vote is for best overall RUSH album. 1. Moving Pictures - 213 votes 2. Hemispheres - 177 votes 3. Permanent Waves - 143 votes 4. A Farewell to Kings - 90 votes 5. Signals - 84 votes 6. 2112 - 81 votes 7. Grace Under Pressure - 64 votes 8. Power Windows - 59 votes 9. Vapor Trails - 42 votes 10. Hold Your Fire - 38 votes 11. Presto - 34 votes 12. Caress of Steel - 33 votes 13. Counterparts - 26 votes 14. Roll the Bones - 20 votes 15. Fly By Night -12 votes 16. Test For Echo - 11 votes 17. Rush - 10 votes
  11. For me it's Presto. I don't mind the rabbits but the picture itself just looks like a random photo that an agency provided and gives off a feeling to me of a "oh that'll do" kind of vibe. Some people might point to Hold Your Fire with the all-red colour and three red balls, but that seems calculated to me, a Neil idea. The rest of the Presto album art is good, the inner sleeve with the lyrics etc, but it seems like they just used the random front picture and expanded off it, rather than creating a cool rabbit picture that seems more unique to the album.
  12. ...and after a few hours of talking about a million subjects with them they finally get around to asking you about Canadian prog rock bands. But they've only got time for one RUSH song to be used to explain just what RUSH are. It's your choice, which song do you play the aliens? Which song describes RUSH and who they are best of all? Choose wisely... I know my choice.
  13. This is it. After this it's all over. No more will there be any doubt. This thread will explain the true differences between Fly By Night and Caress of Steel. Is it miles or is it inches? I know a song about this. Would you like to hear it? do do do do do do do and, one, two, three... They are secrets to each other Each album like a novel that only RUSHIACS have ever read Even joined in bonds of metal brotherhood They are linked to one another by worn out denim threads They are planets to each other Fly By Night is Neptune and Cos is Uranus Each album worlds apart Light years between them and no rocket ship Just between these discs I think it's time for us to advertise The differences that RUSH freaks already know Just between them I think it's time for us to surmise The daylight in between Leave room for COS fans or fans of Fly to crow They are strangers to each other Full of metal goodness, a total heavy riff show Revealing well-constructed themes but they're playing from the heart unlike ELO Just between them I think it's time for us to revise The differences between Cos and FBN Just between us I think it's time for TRF to Baptize Fly by Night or Caress of Steel Leave room for 2112 to blow They are islands to each other Building prog rock bridges on troubled mainstream seas Will one be burned and thrown away? Some fools will not choose, but will probably post anyway Just between us I think it's time for us to analyse The differences between FBN and COS you know Just between us I think it's time for one to be aggrandized and one to be bastardized finally leave no doubt between them Leave room for one of these to glow and the other to eat the yellow snow
  14. When I first saw this: I thought, why have they got PIG written on it. Is this the PIG IRON Rush album?? They might have a giant PINK PIG on stage! :eh:
  15. I want to see people crying like babies with nostalgia over this album. Come on now, bawl like little brats! :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:
