  1. Earl rates Tommy Lee as one of the best drummers of all time, but he doesn't rate the great Charlie Watts. Just think about it, Tommy Lee who featured in a show about drumming where he got outdone by a bunch of kids at drum school and Earl thinks he's better than Charlie Watts!
  2. RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson says that he will spend the next 14 days "self-quarantining" to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus. Earlier today, Lifeson took to RUSH's official Twitter to write: "Just returned from Spring Break with my gKids. We are all self quarantining for 14 days. All travellers should. Looking forward to getting caught up on Netflix!! Send your top viewing suggestions. – Alex" The province of Ontario, where Alex lives, currently has the largest number of COVID-19 cases in Canada. On Saturday, Ontario reported 24 new cases, the highest daily increase since the outbreak began, bringing the total number of cases to 103. There have been more than 169,000 confirmed cases and more than 6,000 deaths so far, putting public health systems and emergency services under immense pressure. Officials have made it clear that the elderly — especially those with heart, lung and immunological conditions — are particularly vulnerable to the coronavirus, with at least 25 deaths linked to one nursing home in Washington. In Italy, which has one of the oldest populations in the world, one hundred percent of the people who have died have been over 60, and the vast majority over 80
  3. She's 48 in cat years which means she's not yet 8 years old in human years! So Happy 8th birthday! http://images.costumeideas.com/products/12168/2-1-77508/girls-deluxe-dark-knight-rises-catwoman-costume.jpg
  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABYCAT!! :dweez: :haz: :cheerleader:  :yay: :hi:
  5. Super minor quibble, but I was watching a live rendition of Chris Squire's "The Fish" recently and it occurred to me that Geddy has never done anything like that, even though it would likely be very good and well received. I wonder why not. Unless he actually has done and I've just had a massive brain fart in which case, oh.
  6. Happy birthday, Babycat! Wishing you a wonderful, catnip-filled day! :yay: I hope that you won't mind, but I decided to test a new phone app with a doodle of your darling Boop in honour of your special day: http://i.imgur.com/fAbf5AM.png Cheers to you, the coolest cat on the board!
  7. Robert: I saw a recent tweet that Joe Bonamassa and you were going to getting together to start to write for the next BCC CD. Glenn Hughes: We actually started about six weeks ago as Joe was at my home for about a week of writing. Today [10/25] we are starting another week of writing together where we will finishing writing BCC 4. Then we go into the studio in January and the album will come out May 20th. It’s such a focused thing. Joe and I are very excited about BCC 4. Back in April when Joe and I were having dinner in Santa Monica we talked about making this new album and decided to really go for it as well as how now may be the right time to do the reunion. Certain things work at the certain times. The love and support we have behind BCC are amazing. I think all the things that have happened in my life have happened for a reason. Joe is a solo artist and we both love BCC. He is booked out a year in advance as he is a busy guy. I returned to being a solo artist and this CD Resonate is a return to form for me with another America tour next year. For me, all I want to do for the rest of my life is to write, play, and record music. As long as I’m healthy spiritually and mentally which I am, that’s all that resounds to me. That’s all I know how to do in life is to give love and music back to others. Robert: Will BCC tour to support this? Glenn Hughes: It’s impossible to pinpoint that yet or if it will happen at all. Joe and I have to find windows where we can tour or maybe just play select shows behind the album. Between you and I, or whoever is reading this, [laughing] my life is around playing live with the Glenn Hughes solo band. I have a great band and crew to that drive me to continue to play live and to keep me going. That’s what it is all about; to play live in my own band. http://myglobalmind.com/2016/10/29/glenn-hughes-new-cd-resonate-return-form/
  8. I'm thrilled that so many of you want to follow the exploits of my son and I as we travel the US! As part of the Lad's home school Home's CoolTM experience, the two of us are spending six weeks on the road. To document and share the experience with friends & family - and the world - we've set up a blog. At toddontheroad2016.blogspot.com you can follow along day by day as we explore this great nation...and track down some of TRF's more notorious characters! As you check out the blog, feel free to comment and post questions. The Lad loves to hear from folks! http://www.pestproducts.com/images/goose-and-gosling.JPG
  9. Pros of tags: they give a respectful nod towards a member or X (other) Cons of tags: they're ultimately useless and very annoying I bring this up because the new Albums You've Listened To version has the "babycat" tag (why I don't know, she doesn't even post in that thread) and now we are plagued with that disgusting and intrusive block of threads at the bottom of the thread. When I post in a thread I like to hit the [end] key and then start writing my post.. But now it's not so easy if I'm using a smaller window. I have to [end] and then [pg up] and then scroll to re-position myself in order to post. Even if this wasn't a problem in making me take an extra second before writing my post, it's a problem in that the related threads block is a massive eyesore. I understand the purpose of tags, but I doubt anyone actually values their serious use... At best, tags are a silly little feature used for fun, but at worst they soil board experience. You like Babycat? Cool, so do I, I love Babycat, but what's the point of the tag? If there's a way to disable the "Also tagged with one or more of these keywords:" block from appearing in every thread with a common tag, I suggest it should be done. This would solve the problem.

  13. Well, folks, with the season underway it's time to get the banter going. I'll be on the Golden State bandwagon, as the Lakers don't even seem like an NBA squad this year. Will anyone be able to stop Golden State's offensive onslaught? Looks like the answer is "no", if last night's comeback performance is any indication. Down 20 in the first quarter, GS came back to beat the Clipper by seven. Back-to-back rings for Curry & Co.?
  14. The internet is abuzz with talk of the Disco Ball that adorns the new R40 cover. Some love it, others hate it for its massiveness and its blocking if Neil's appendages. Lets settle it here and now: Is the R40 Disco Ball just too darn big???
  15. I don't know that I've ever seen a classical music discussion here before. Surely I can't be the only one who's into it... I go in long "phases" occasionally where I listen to it to the near exclusion of anything else. For example, January through May of this year. Faves are Chopin, Debussy, and Beethoven (especially string quartets). Anyone else? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
  16. Finally, a thread where namedropping is a good thing! So... My uncle left today for California to visit my great uncle, Stan Anderson. Cousin Stan is a character actor that's been working in the Business since 1967. He's one of those guys that you can't name, but might go "Ohhhh..." when you see him. This got me thinking about connections that TRFers might have with the (not so) Rich & Famous. Have at it. I'll start. Here's Stan as Judge Vandalay on Seinfeld... http://i.ytimg.com/vi/hmUX2bKruqM/maxresdefault.jpg Stan as General Slocum in Spiderman... http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTcxMTU5NTc4NF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNDUzMzI2Mw@@._V1_SX640_SY720_.jpg Stan as the President in Armageddon... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBEtmUdQRWE
