As a bassist / synthesist with a deep appreciation for the 80s synth contributions to classic rock, I found this article very refreshing, informative, and inspiring. How fortunate we were to be part of the classic musical timeliness that was Rush!

  4. I've always felt that the repeated piano note during the closing of The Spirit of Radio sounds like Geddy's proudest piano ever. Does anyone agree?
  5. Where do all you keyboard players get the samples you use for Rush? I'm sure it's been covered but I can't find it. For example the delayed wave right before Hyperspace in Natural Science or the loop in Vital Signs without the guitar. I'm dying to get more into the synth side of things (I can see how Geddy got overtaken by it). All I have is a Yamaha TX81Z sound module to create sounds with FM synthesis and it's pretty difficult to program, especially for a non-tech guy like me, and a Digitech Looper pedal to trigger samples. I think the digitech is going to work great in a lot of instances but I need to get some good Rush samples that are isolated. Anyone?
  6. I was just wondering if anyone had a resource for key tabs/ sheet music for any Rush songs. I'm starting to play the keyboards/piano and I'd love to play them in addition to my bass! I'm already loving playing Subdivisions with both bass and keys. I found that chart through Rockband....
