  1. Easy one for me. Renaissance is a good prog band, but I'm not really sold on Ashes Are Burning. Scheherazade is more my style. Lazaretto wins, and Jack White wins on strength of his full catalogue, which is a lot.
  2. At long last the completely nonsensical matchup this generator was supposed to give me from the start (though Hall And Oates vs. Frank Zappa was also pretty zany)! Will you go for the Rocket Man or the Third Man? I'm splitting my ticket here. Elton John is one of my favorite singers of all time, but DSMIOTPP isn't one of my favorites of his. Some great stuff for sure, but never the one I really come back to. Jack White on the other hand sometimes thrills me, though often is only just good enough to stay on my radar. Boarding House Reach is an example of him knocking me right out of the park, and was one of my favorite albums of that year.
  3. So Jack White just released a new album that I bought today. This is easily his most experimental record, with electronic beats and synthesizers, strange samples, unorthodox song structures, and even spoken word and rapped passages. It's received about every rating from 10/10 to 4.5/10. Has anyone else heard this album? If so what are your thoughts? Is this part of the future of rock and roll, a way to break back into the mainstream? Or is this just a very strange aside that won't likely be looked to for future inspiration by newer artists? And if you hate it, feel free to expound upon that too. Respectfully. lol
