  1. The Royal Mail has just released two sets of limited edition Iron Maiden postage stamps. Set 1 contains 4 stamps bearing various images of Eddie. Set 2 contains 8 stamps with live band shots. I had some Christmas present money left so I decided to treat myself. I'll probably get a couple of frames and hang them in my 'den'!!
  2. There were, to my memory, three massive prog metal albums that lit up TRF last year, and all of them saw quite a bit of love from many members around here. But how would the board as a whole rank them?
  3. Which of these two songs about that old Greek mythological character do you prefer?
  4. And the parallels between these bands are always more than I previously thought. Both bands released their first major live album after their 5th studio album, in either case capping off the most critically acclaimed chapter of their career. Which do you prefer? (of course one is a double...so that may sway the votes)
  5. These songs have pretty much nothing in common but a lyrical topic. So for that reason alone and no other, I'm asking you which do you prefer? I'm expecting the Maiden bias of many members here to prevail
  6. ...20 years ago, August 28th 1993, Bruce Dickinson did his last (by then) gig with Iron Maiden. The show was full of theatrics, and made it into a DVD called Raising Hell. The entire thing can be found here though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZV1TP_WaJ1E I was on my second year in college then, and was shocked to hear that he had decided to leave. My first time seeing them was only a few month before then, on the Fear of the Dark Tour, and now my favourite band ever was falling apart! I absolutely hated everything they did with Blaze, and thank God Bruce returned in 1999. Time does fly eh?
  7. Sorry I can´t find this on an English-written website, but here´s a sample of Maiden´s upcoming DVD: http://whiplash.net/materias/news_829/175741-ironmaiden.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter I forgot how awesome Wasted Years sounded live!!!
  8. So, this arrived in the mail for me today and I'm just about crapping myself it's so damn awesome. My drawing signed by Bruce Dickinson. Ahh! Just thought I'd share. http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/331/f/0/signed_poster_by_rushyeszeppelin-d5mdr2f.jpg?1
