  1. I was curious to get some peoples' opinions on this. I recently finished Ghost Rider and, the next day, put on my VT CD to listen to (the remix/remaster – I'm not a masochist!). Anyway, it was interesting to hear the album in a "reflected in another source of light" as it were, specifically the songs related to Neil's travels. I obviously always knew the big picture of what happened from 1997 to 2002, but reading all the details gave some more context. For example, beyond the obvious "Ghost Rider", there is "Secret Touch" relating to his experience with Gabrielle; the mentioning of tarot cards in "Peaceable Kingdom" (probably inspired by the surprisingly accurate tarot card reading he had done); the line, "You can't tell yourself how to feel" in "How It Is", which is recurrent throughout the latter half of the book. Actually, in terms of "Ghost Rider", I heard the lines, "There's a shadow on the road behind / There's a shadow on the road ahead" differently upon the most recent listen, and connect it to perhaps his reference of a "splintered personality" during his healing journey, of which the Ghost Rider was one facet. It's strange because I always thought I knew what Vapor Trails was, and now it has given me a new perspective.
  2. He is the one that hides The universal secret of all time Destruction of the Ghost Rider franchise Is the one and only crime That Johnny Blaze must punish a thousand times We found out what it means to be deceived The rotten celluloid images like an unborn child that never was conceived When Nick Cage's world collapses He'll feel like he's trapped inside his embryonic cell And flashing memories Of all his awful acting will be his never ending hell Nick's name scorns his blazing face The man that never heeds the views of fans The deathly darkness that Belies the fate of those who cannot act Well I know its what I have to do, said Johnny and I know the reason why And I know Cage will understand that it's time to die Don't believe the life you had Nick Will ruin Ghost Rider's rep for long but you have to let your body sleep To let Johnny Blaze's soul live on Blaze has given life to you And your career, it's your concern Unseen eyes of inner Fire Will make your soul burn and you'll turn to ash with one look The seeds of death are sown Curtain on the actor falls The public fate of Nick stays unknown Just remember it was you who ruined your life Fan hate is a living death Treat your career for what it's worth a pack of smokes and a blob of meth Looking back over his shoulder, bike roaring Johnny Blaze leaves the grave behind Here Nick waits and only guesses What his next life will bring http://i.imgur.com/siqgbrn.jpg There's no reason for you Nick to run You can't escape the fate of the chosen one Black moon rising, in a blood red sky Cage you're in hell and yet you're gonna die Drinking down your bloody one good review is that your answer? That's what you plan to do? You're dreaming man, you won't cheat your way out of this disaster You're going down a thousand times like I said, I am your master Wind of Hollywood piss has taken over your celebrity mind And you think you can use your stupid phone? You can't do that shit here Cage Look around, you're in hell! Feel the forces from another world Ghost Rider shadow fills your mind Firey power blowing over you And you squirm, and even now you still look fake There is no truth in you even when there's no mistake Look behind you! Hellhounds are calling Johnny Blaze is near Feel yourself falling Falling with fear You tell yourself you're dreaming You realise you're screaming You know that this shouldn't happen to you You shouldn't have made that Ghost Rider movie spew But now there is nothing you can do Ghost Rider shadows from the other world Flaming forces in your mind Trapped between the worlds of life and death Frozen in the realms of bad movie hell time Look behind you Cage! You feel yourself falling, you won't deliver one more bad line Your body is crawling, but you made Rider fans blind Cold, cold feelings are running around your brain like ants Ice cold fingers scrape away and now you've shit your pants and so ends another adventure for Johnny Blaze (courtesy of Black Sabbath) Happy Birthday JB! http://i.imgur.com/7hNkjf0.jpg :blaze:
  3. So my dad has always told me that he wants "In My Life"- Beatles at his funeral! So I got to thinking...! What Rush song would you want played when you die, more specifically at your funeral, or wake etc.. Also if you could choose, what Rush song would you want playing when you die, or as your dying? I think definitely Fountain of Lamneth, Vapor Trail, Nobody's Hero, The Way the Wind Blows Wish Them Well. I'm sure there is at least one song about life one every album except possibly Feedback P.S. This is dark I know but I was just thinking......!
  4. High above the city square Globes of light float in mid-air Higher still, against the night Nicolas Cage is bathed in light You promise every treasure, to the foolish and the wise A Godly man of mystery, a spirit in disguise Every pleasure, we bow and close our eyes Oh Nic Cage, you promise every prize [chorus] Nicolas Cage, spreads his arms and sings Synchronized and graceful, he moves like living things A godly man of Light, of Sea and Sky and Land Oh Nicolas Cage, the people raise their hands As if to fly As if to fly [/chorus] All around the city square Power shimmers in the air People gazing up with love With Nicolas Cage high above Celestial machinery - move through your commands A godly man of mystery, so delicate and so grand Moved to worship, we bow and close our eyes Oh Nicolas Cage, promises every prize [chorus] "Lean not upon your own understanding always ask how it got burned and leave the bees to the rest. Trust in perfect love, and perfect planning because we have to steal the declaration of independence." Stars aglow like scattered sparks Span the sky in clockwork arcs Hint at more than we can see Spiritual machinery [chorus] x2 "What do you lack?" "I lack the Cage."
