  2. Hi, everyone! Are we allowed to sell stuff here? I'm not sure if I'm even posting this in the right thread, if so. But, to cut to the chase... I currently own a MIJ Geddy Lee bass and I haven't played it in over a year. It's stayed nice and safe in its hard shell case. My amp is shot to hell (cats had a field day with it...) and I do not have the money to replace it. In fact, I could actually really use some money, and that's the main reason I am deciding to sell this. It has a few nicks on it from use and travel, and could most definitely use some new strings, but it's 100% playable and in very good condition. I can post pictures and stuff once I find out if I'm even allowed to advertise this here. I'd like to sell it with the case and thinking about $850 + shipping costs possibly, for a price. But we can talk. I don't wanna just give it away. This is a nice guitar and a very durable case. I see a lot of these used, GL Fender jazz basses going for about $750 and, while I can't find the exact model online anymore, I did do some research and I found that the brand of case ranges from $100-150. I tried listing this on eBay to no avail, so I figured I'd try here since there's potentially a lot of bass players maybe wanting one of these. You can always e-mail me any serious questions or inquires at alexandriaburrow@gmail.com This will be "first come, first serve", unless someone is willing to offer me a higher price for whatever reason. Or, if you'd like me to relist my original auction on eBay, I can do that, as well. Believe me, if I wasn't so tight for money, I wouldn't be so ready to sell it. But, hey. It might as well go to someone who wants one and who has the proper, working equipment to actually play it, lol. Sorry if we aren't supposed to post stuff like this.
  3. http://www.92citifm.ca/2014/06/04/geddy-lee-news/ Has anybody else heard anything about this? A friend posted it on Facebook this morning but I don't see any other links that have the same information that this website has. If so, congratulations Grandpa!
  4. For those of you who don't know what the ALS Ice Bucket challenge is, it's an internet trend that's going around where people make a video of themselves getting a bucket of ice (or ice water) dumped over their heads and then they nominate 3 people. This is supposed to raise awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. and Geddy was one of the 3 people that he nominated. So do you guys think that Geddy will participate?
  5. So, I was reading about Hold Your Fire (my new favourite Rush album) , and stumbled across a little interview from 2009 in which Ged called Tai Shan an error and claimed that the band should have known better.... WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT So, one of my current favourite Rush tunes was "an error" that "the band should have known better" than to make. This is, in my opinion, one of the worst things I've ever heard Ged say. It's one of the more uplifting songs I've heard them make and I really love it more and more with each listen, yet he calls it an error they should have known better about, just.............ARGGH!!! Anyway, what's your opinion on this old [but still angrying] quote from Geddy? Do you think he's right, or do you think otherwise?
  6. Hey, so I was looking through the new articles posted about Rush on the Power Windows website, when I found an article interviewing Geddy, and he is asked his top favorite albums. Of course he is hesitant because like all of them have said, it is like picking a favorite child, he did narrow it down to 2112, Moving Pictures, Power Windows, and Clockwork Angels (not in that order), because he felt they were the most satisfying. I think it does not shock anyone to see 2112, MP, and CA on there, but I am wondering what everyone thinks of Power Windows being up there. I am over-joyed, but slightly shocked, seeing as how not many interviews from the era have them particularly happy with the album compared to how much praise they are giving CA. I would be even more shocked if they did not feature more than halve the album over the last two tours. I was just wondering what everyone else thought, if it is or surprising or not. Here is the link to the article. http://www.list.co.uk/article/51389-interview-with-rush-singer-bassist-geddy-lee/
  7. showed him on the jumbotron in 3rd quarter in game between lakers and new orleans hornets. (lakers won) they played a rush song while he was on screen but i couldn't place which one it was. it may have been YYZ. instrumental portion of whatever song it was. i know, i've disappointed you all by not recognizing it immediately this is from the TV broadcast http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0wYnH2auxo
  8. Were only Jazz basses used on the new album? On the title track of the album, it sounds like Geddy brought back the Rickenbacker. Any info?

    Lakeside Park

EDIT: So my mom surprised me and my dad with tickets to go to Canada, and see Rush play in Toronto! We went exploring all around to some of the cool places Rush sings about! Lakeside Park was definitely one of my favorites! So here's some pictures to go along with the great song! We also met fellow Rush fans there! It was really neat! LAKESIDE PARK http://i.imgur.com/T0SCd.jpg Midway hawkers calling "Try your luck with me." Merry-go-round wheezing same old melody. A thousand ten-cent wonders, who could ask for more. A pocketful of silver, the key to heaven's door. http://i.imgur.com/wMUFZ.jpg Lakeside Park, willows in the breeze. Lakeside Park, so many memories. Laughing rides, midway lights, Shining stars on summer nights. http://i.imgur.com/XR2aa.jpg Days of barefoot freedom, racing with the waves http://i.imgur.com/I4crJ.jpg Nights of starlit secrets, crackling driftwood flames http://i.imgur.com/cjB56.jpg Drinking by the lighthouse, smoking on the pier http://i.imgur.com/QrEMl.jpg Still, we saw the magic was fading every year http://i.imgur.com/XuUhs.jpg Everyone would gather on the twenty fourth of May, Sitting in the sand to watch the fireworks display. Dancing fires on the beach, singing songs together, Though it's just a memory, some memories last forever.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYOkEcWzceY I was there!!! Its a week long intense orchestra camp that plays lots of rock & roll! This was the final concert, and that's my mom with the blue viper violin with the yellow dress! I'm so jealous she got to play Rush with her group and I didn't! :( BUT it was amazing to watch!! Everyone go take a look!

  13. Hi Guys, So I am an amateur chef/baker at home and nothing would make my collection complete like a Gershon's apron. And before you ask, yes I have been on eBay and done various searches for one these past few months and nothing has come up. So I am asking any fans directly if you have one in new to slightly used condition that you'd be willing to part with. This is one of my "must haves" as a Rush fan! Please send me a message and let me know what you'd like for it. Thanks!
