    CA and MFH?

QUOTE (HigherWater @ Jun 24 2012, 07:43 PM) First of all, I love this album. More than any Rush album or any album by any other band in a very long time. That said, does anyone else hear a little My Favorite Headache in the vocal melodies? Just askin. One last question: Is Seven Cities through The Garden the best 'side 2' in the history of Rush? I think it might be. Definitely. There's a HUGE MFH influence (as well as many other Rush albums) on this record.
  2. QUOTE (beherit @ Jun 24 2012, 09:56 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 23 2012, 05:21 PM) What if they trolled us all by playing Clockwork Angela, Signals, AND 2112 in their entirety?! that's not trolling, that's just playing a kick-ass set MAYBE, but I can think of tons of alternative songs to play instead of "Tears," "Countdown," and "Wish Them Well". . .

The other ones like Lady Gaga. Hey, I like Lady GaGa too! I prefer Christopher Walken doing Lady GaGa... Christopher Walken is a god among us mortals Indeed...if you never have, check out Eddie Izzard doing an impression of Christopher Walken. Talk about EPIC!! And, yes...I actually still have a headache from drinking with Michael Wilton. He's maybe 5'5" (I'm 5'3") and he out drank me like a champ! Holy s@#$ I wept with mirth after watching Eddie Izzard imitate Christopher Walken. Eddie Izzard in stiletto boots imitating Christopher Walken? I think I'm in love (not that I wasn't already)

  5. QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Jun 23 2012, 02:46 PM) Also, you mentioned Queensryche. I have seen QR like 5 or 6 times in concert, and I have met all the members (except Chris DeGarmo). Very nice guys, but beware. I sat and talked with Michael Wilton after a show once. We talked about Rush (told me about the time he and Chris got to meet Geddy and Alex and how cool they were) and just music in general. The whole time we were matching each other drink for drink. By the end of the night, he had proclaimed me as the new "Master of the Universe" and I never had such a horrible hangover in my entire life. Master of the universe, indeed! Good times... I remember you telling me that story! Epic!!!

  9. Except. . . the icons that correspond to the numbers of the clock are not where they should be if it was trying to be 21:12. . . "Caravan" is at the top of the clock meaning the clock starts at 13:00, not 12:00.
  10. QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 23 2012, 05:45 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 23 2012, 09:48 AM) WHO VOTED FOR ME?! I'M HONORED This may mean that you might be part turncoat... Bad press is still press. I'll just delight in proving them wrong
  11. QUOTE (Merely Space @ Jun 23 2012, 01:38 PM) I personally hope they are kept in a transparent acryllic octagon/booth underneath Neil's drum riser. That way, the drums will be ten feet tall. PLEASE!!!

I'm strangely turned on by this! I aim to amuse! Alice is so great... ...you need check his music out. Great music, great sense of humour. He's been around forever and has recorded pretty much every kind of rock music. Definitely, one of my favourites. What makes you think I haven't already (years ago!) and love his stuff?
  13. QUOTE (GuitarPlyr01 @ Jun 23 2012, 11:59 AM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 23 2012, 09:15 AM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jun 19 2012, 10:31 PM) That would be pretty cool. Hopefully the lighting will just make them totally obscured when they are not playing. I hope that they have a multi level stage for the first time. Have Geddy and Alex on risers along with Neil on a higher riser so that the string Section is in a pit in the center! Just as long as front row is still front row and not pushed back I think it will be either that, or they will be on a small riser set up behind Geddy. I'd say behind Alex, but he has all his amps. They can afford to set people up behind Geddy cause he really won't be losing anything back there. I'm also convinced that when they're not playing, they won't be on stage. The riser would be near the side of the stage so they can just sneak off when they aren't needed We can hope.

  15. QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ Jun 20 2012, 01:31 AM) My first Rush concert was 2007. I was 17 at the time, so maybe that will explain why it was my first Mine too- I was 19 and on the lawn!

    The Anarchist

QUOTE (snowdogged @ Jun 22 2012, 10:41 PM) This song definitely got me on the first listen. I'd pick The Anarchist and Clockwork Angels as my favorite songs. Same here!

  21. QUOTE (pony2112 @ Jun 20 2012, 07:15 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 18 2012, 10:39 PM) No peeking for me- I'm going to opening night! Looking at your list of shows, it's UNBELIEVABLE that your first show was in 2007, and you have become such a huge fan! How did this happen? Addictive personality?! And c'mon, it's !!! In all honesty, I think I was in the right place at the right time. I am still very young(ish) and I became a fan RIGHT as the RIAB/TRF/FB population was growing. Also Rush was getting more popular right around 2008-2009, so their exposure was getting way bigger than it had ever been- maybe even more since the early 1980s. (their feature in Rolling Stone, their presence on the Colbert Report, their cameo in I Love You, Man, etc.) In that way, I've made a huge amount of Rush Rat/Rushian friends who I've been willing to travel far distances for- it also helps that I live in the Northeast where there are plenty of concert venues
  22. QUOTE (Karena @ Jun 21 2012, 09:06 AM) You might be surprised how much of that isn't pretending. So. . . does that mean they morph into 20somethings again? Are they drinking some anti-aging potion or something?
  23. QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Jun 19 2012, 11:09 PM) I usually can't make it opening night, and I am not always able to hold out until my first show. I won't be seeing them until the first Toronto show. We'll see how long I can hold out. I don't take pee or beer breaks, and I generally love every song they play, so it's more of a "can't wait to find out" attitude. BUT, now that this whole business about a blasted string section has been leaked, I will be more tempted than ever to see the set list. Trying to keep an open mind about the strings... I will be very pleased to see it work. I have some serious reservations, though. But, that is for another thread! I like yer attitude!
