Maybe Halo Effect. I hope the first two will be! I love everything else (though I'll be weeping like a colicky infant during "The Garden") Word! If they play The Garden and also Losing It with an orchestra, I'll need a box of tissues! I suggested on a Facebook group that every venue provide every concertgoer with a pack of tissues if "The Garden" and "Losing It" will be played live. . .
  2. QUOTE (Gompers @ Jun 26 2012, 02:21 PM) QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Jun 26 2012, 02:16 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 26 2012, 01:10 PM) Maybe it's that it's too "commercial" sounding? Too poppy? I don't know but it sets my teeth on edge. Maybe I'll soften with time. Geddy's backing vocal on the chorus is what sets my teeth on edge...it just grates me for some reason. I would like to cut it out of the mix too. It would vastly improve the chorus. Hopefully it won't get pumped in live. I hope this song won't get played live at all!
  3. QUOTE (ScottT67 @ Jun 19 2012, 03:44 AM) My last Rush show in Vegas, there was this couple there together at the show. On HER demands, they had the wedding in Vegas so they could include a Rush show as part of the honeymoon! Would I ever get that lucky? One way to a Rush gal's heart is spelling "the holy triumvirate" correctly
  4. QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Jun 24 2012, 09:17 PM) Good stuff, eh? I laugh so hard every time I watch it. Oh lord yes! Whoops, seems like we're hideously off-topic again
  5. QUOTE (beherit @ Jun 26 2012, 01:06 PM) i want a babe who strips to superconductor That's the dream, ain't it?
  6. QUOTE (nobodys hero @ Jun 19 2012, 02:04 PM) QUOTE (ScottT67 @ Jun 19 2012, 10:06 AM) "Scott This is Rushchick..." ROTF! - That gave me a nice morning Laugh! Nice touch! Cyber Speed Dating within the forum! Hi Rush Chick! - Are you going to be at the Vegas show in November? What If I like Rush more than you? Is that okay? If I'm going to flirt with Rush girls, I guess I should post a recent pic in my forum profile! lol! The shot of me with Lerxt, & Dirk was the S&A tour. My hair is much longer, and I'm 20 pounds less today! Love is in the air You have a better chance than ever of finding a girl at a Rush show nowadays. One of these days I'll pay attention to the guys around me at the show instead of drooling at Geddy DON'T DO IT! IT'S A TRAP!

  8. QUOTE (RUSHian62 @ Jun 26 2012, 12:59 PM) January 1979 Hemispheres Tour Springfield, MA I made a banner of the brains! We had to travel through a blizzard to get there, it was awesome!!! Gah! If only I had been born 24 years earlier- I could've gone to that show!!!
  9. QUOTE (Gompers @ Jun 26 2012, 02:08 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 26 2012, 02:04 PM) I like the sentiment but something about the song as a whole bugs me. I think it's the weakest track off of Clockwork Angels. I feel that way as well. Although 7CoG is still not sitting well with me. Maybe it's that it's too "commercial" sounding? Too poppy? I don't know but it sets my teeth on edge. Maybe I'll soften with time.
  10. QUOTE (GeddyLeeFender @ Jun 21 2012, 07:57 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jun 20 2012, 03:41 PM) it's on the same boring level as speed of love. Speed of Love is awesome, anyone who disagrees is just a hater That poor song gets so much hate! I for one find it incredibly sexy and moving.
  11. QUOTE (lifeson90 @ Jun 26 2012, 01:50 PM) good, pleasant kinda track without bein anything too special, doesnt rip my head off and piss down my neck kinda thing What an image!!!

  13. QUOTE (A rocket that ignites itself @ Jun 26 2012, 12:08 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 26 2012, 09:10 AM) QUOTE (robertrobyn @ Jun 23 2012, 12:23 AM) Im so so glad I bought the fan pack. The 132 page magazine is outstanding. Plus I like the hard case bood cd better than the regular store cd. The packaging of the fanpack CD is worlds better than the usual digipak. Absolutely. I'm very impressed with the glossy hard cover book like cd package. Much better quality than your average digipak that can get pretty dinged up over time. No band pic included for some reason, but that's the only minor downside. I'm guessing because it's the magazine cover. Oh yes, very true.

  15. QUOTE (Babycat @ Jun 25 2012, 03:19 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 23 2012, 03:48 PM) WHO VOTED FOR ME?! I'M HONORED Just wondered who voted for me, too. Honored, also. And it seems Ovningskora's in the lead... The plot thickens!
  16. QUOTE (beherit @ Jun 25 2012, 01:07 PM) I really hope they play Superconductor on this tour so me and my friend (and you I guess) will be the only ones standing I tried to get some people into that tune by telling them it was thrash metal but they didn't agree I find it an extremely fun, wise, and danceable song!
  17. QUOTE (briremo @ Jun 24 2012, 07:23 PM) The watchmaker is time itself. It is ever-present. It guides our decisions. It never relents. Time loves us all to death Woah. Woah. O_O Awesome.
  18. QUOTE (clem @ Jun 25 2012, 11:43 AM) ....sounds like "Virtuality" with a bit of "Hand over Fist" (the chorus) in it? mebbe it's just me. For the record, I think all 3 are awesome songs. Clem Definitely
  19. QUOTE (beherit @ Jun 25 2012, 12:31 PM) aw come on Wish Them Well rules for me that's the new Superconductor - a really disliked song that I really enjoy Damn, and I LOVE "Superconductor"! "WTW" just seems really incongruous (trite lyrics, silly melody) with the rest of the bomb-ass Clockwork Angels theme.
  20. QUOTE (beherit @ Jun 25 2012, 12:29 PM) True, true. Honestly I think Tears would be hilarious live though... "Hilarious" puts a whole new spin on it. . . okay I'm on board
  21. QUOTE (Hear Again @ Jun 25 2012, 09:33 AM) QUOTE (Jeffrey @ Jun 25 2012, 07:07 AM)Common bug for the CDs sold in Canada, not sure about elsewhere. Really? I thought that was just some of the typical Rush "wit" to show that the songs should be taken as a whole album as opposed to individual tracks. Good to know Thanks Take Care I like that interpretation!
  22. QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Jun 25 2012, 11:02 AM) QUOTE (trenken @ Jun 25 2012, 09:43 AM) I actually think HF is in the right spot because ultimately this story doesn't have a happy ending, like 2112. I think this stems from Neil's very negative outlook on life and time in general, because he isnt religious. He views death as an end. He doesn't have that glowing view of life and death that religious people have. At that point in the story the hero is looking back realizing his life was what it was, that can't be changed now, but it was his life and living it again surely is better than what's coming, which is death. Then after that he's nearing the end of his life, like Neil is himself, has experienced a lot of heartbreak, like Neil has, and realizes that all he can do is live out his remaining days, try to find something to love but is still bitter about how things turned out. People are told everything happens for a reason. Well why did bad things happen to this good person? Something Neil writes about a LOT. Roll The Bones being one example. So the story doesnt have a happy ending. Not an overly sad ending, just life is what it is, it's so short and fragile and ultimately meaningless since we'll all cease to exist soon enough. Neil's view on this has never changed throughout his entire time in this band because he keeps writing about it and has since FBN. No. Leaving HF where it is is still problematic. You (and the band) have it this way: 1. Difficult experiences. (Carnies, Halo Effect, Wreckers) 2. Still, I'd do it all again! Yeah! (HF) 3. My bad experiences have brought me to my lowest point. (BU2B2) Sounds a little bipolar, doesn't it? Remove HF (take out the #2 above), and it makes much more sense. Agreed.

    CA and MFH?

QUOTE (Mika @ Jun 25 2012, 04:46 AM) QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Jun 25 2012, 02:59 AM) I only hear a similarity to MFH in ONE place: The first line of "The Wreckers" sounds like the first line of "The Angels' Share." ("The breakers roar, on an unknown shore" sounds like "The angels share, secrets of the universe...") Thank you! I was thinking this line sounded familiar, and I couldn't place it until you compared it with 'The Angels' Share'! And I do hear some similarity to 'My Favorite Headache', with the more riff-driven songs and more sing-along-ability. It kind of sounds as if Geddy had more input with this album or something. "The Garden"'s beginning is pretty similar to "The Angels' Share" too.
