QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Jun 26 2012, 05:18 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 26 2012, 04:08 PM) I would pee my steampunk outfit if they busted out "Grace to Grace" live. My friend (who's a Rush fan/skeptic) has said it's a lost Rush song and I'm inclined to agree! HOLY MOTHER OF GED! Could you imagine?! Never would happen, but it would be epic! I'm still holding out for a Geddy Lee solo tour. But how weird would it be seeing him onstage without the other Two Stooges? About as weird as them having a string sec- Oh wait.

OHHH SNAP Surely you don't like it? No, I'm quite underwhelmed by it actually Oh right, I was thinking you'd be the type who'd take anything... I miss covers like Permanent Waves, ones that I could stare at for hours. I just painted a Permanent Waves replica album cover and I stared at my copy for approximately 9.5 hours!

QUOTE (snowdogged @ Jun 26 2012, 03:49 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 26 2012, 02:29 PM) QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Jun 26 2012, 03:03 PM) I like it alot, but that's coming from someone that loves Out Of The Cradle. Hmm. What's that supposed to mean? Is "Out of the Cradle" overlooked or generally scoffed at? I dig that tune, but not "Wish Them Well." I think we like a lot of the same music. Out of the Cradle has this driving power to it throughout the whole song while Wish them well just is not doing it for me at the moment. It sounds too much to me like a conventional pop rock song when I listen to it. Precisely!!!

I prefer the album version. It just seems more clean, more sprightly.

QUOTE (D3strukt @ Jun 26 2012, 03:26 PM) Gender excluded, how old was everyone when they got into Rush? I was about 5. 18. So old -
QUOTE (Snaked @ Jun 25 2012, 08:03 PM) I love the echo of "...in a world where I feel so small I can't stop thinkin big" at the end of the album version. YES!!! I love that extra little something.

Appearing on the Trailer Park Boys and the cover of High Times meant nothing. Carry on. I wonder if there's a Kelly G? Jigga what?

Appearing on the Trailer Park Boys and the cover of High Times meant nothing. Carry on. Hahahaha. He'd definitely fall on my list of people to smoke with someday, if I actually smoked. Same. We already know he's an excellent drunk- who knows what happens when he takes a trip to the salad bar?!

QUOTE (Bonghitsforjesus @ Jun 26 2012, 02:45 PM) QUOTE (Nate2112 @ Jun 20 2012, 03:05 PM) My favorites are Clockwork Angels and The Anarchist. I like those too! Especially Anarchist following CA, good lead in. Totally agreed!

QUOTE (spock @ Jun 25 2012, 07:04 PM) As time goes by and I listen to the CD over, and over, and over, and... Here's what I'm stuck on: Protagonist (Luke Skywalker type) leaves his village for adventure. We get some insight into the local belief system. He hits the city - most folks seem to like the Watchmaker/Angel system. There's an anarchist who has a lot of baggage - we never hear from him again. Protagonist joins up with Carnies, meets a girl, love gone bad... He tries to find an elusive city, doesn't go great. Shipwrecked - on purpose! Never has such a bad situation been put to such good music! We hear a song (HF) that says he would do it all again (wow, really? There must be a lot in the novel that we don't know about) Faith system didn't work well (all those surprised, please raise you hands). For all those rats along the way - FU! Settle down to a bucolic lifestyle to end his days...end on cello! No TIE fighter attack on the Deathstar No speech before the Priests at Syrinx No boredom with milk and honeydew No sending the Borg to the 4th quadrant of the galaxy It's a very odd story if you ask me (which you didn't)...it's actually not clear what the heck happens; whether the watchmaker and those mechanical angels are good/bad/of the Sith/or just misunderstood. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE this album! Just trying to pull the story thread out of the album cloth. I will say, darn clever of those guys to give just enough away to make me buy the book. I find the Clockwork Angels story of the songs themselves to be very similar to Tommy or Quadrophenia- their stories were pretty unclear/muddled until they were explained in interviews/movies. I am very interested to see how the book explains stuff.

QUOTE (Cyclonus X-1 @ Jun 24 2012, 10:46 AM) It has always been The Anarchist, and I don't think it'll ever change. My sentiments exactly.

Or could he just be high on life? What pic? The one with just you and him. he's wearing a dark shirt. and shows up every time you post That pic was taken backstage during Neil's solo- Al has said he doesn't smoke before he plays. I think he's just high on life

QUOTE (ScottT67 @ Jun 19 2012, 06:38 PM) Just reading the posts and reactions from you gals has been like an awakening. Nice to know there are so many of you out there! Where were you girls at, during the 1st 10 tours, beginning with Signals??? I wouldn't get into Rush until 24 years after Signals came out!
