  1. Hi all, Please don't flame me as I'm quite sure this is the wrong forum, but we have a Rush cover band in Putnam county NY that is in need of a singer- anyone interested please reply- miked272001@yahoo.com Thank you!
  2. This song is ridiculously hard. I was listening to this the other night :smoke: and could not believe how rockin it is. I am going to try to learn the drum part but it is going to be a very tall order.
  3. I am getting very fire up that the replay of Rush's induction will be on Saturday night. Are you guys doing anything special to celebrate? I think that I will have a nice :martini: then a steak dinner & then tune into the big show. Hopefully Alex's speech will not be edited. :laughing guy:
  4. Thankyou OP- this has been grating on my nerves for years! It's like they didn't put any effort into doing just simple math, but just threw this video together as fast as possible And even if they did realize the math is off, they just went ahead with the video as is. This does not make me very :D but instead makes me very Hopefully they will remaster this video and get it right this time.
  5. Am I missing something? The link from the first page took me to a blog of recent events driving around a Mercedes and no mention of drug use. Can someone post the actual story in question please?
  6. My interpretation of Alex counting on his fingers was the amount of years the hall of fame snubbed them, but it's open to interpretation. I thought his speech was an absolute riot. A perfect way to be gracious and at the same time telling the hall of fame that it sucks.
  7. I used to listen to PE all the time, I still like them. That article was hilarious- some highlights for me were the dudes tearing off their shirts and slapping high fives, the whole audience being compared to the characters from 'I love you man' and saying that this is heaven on earth for a Rush fan haha.
  8. My friend and I have been jamming Rush covers for a while now & have a pretty extensive catalogue & last week we played 'moving pictures' in its entirety & dedicated it to Rush getting in the hall of fame.
  9. Sweet thanks for uploading. I saw that hot string player twice over the weekend. The first time we were near the tour buses in NJ & a hot chick walked right by me- my friends later pointed out that it was the string player. The second time I saw her she was walking out with the crowd at Brooklyn. Definitely cool & she looks really hot.
  10. Thank you! I didn't want to post as if I was bragging, but just got news of the backstage opportunity this morning & I am so excited I wanted to share. I will follow your advice- seems like a cool thing to say to them.
  11. I'm assuming it's after the show, could be before, I don't know. I am psyched either way
  12. Without going into specifics, it looks like I will have an opportunity to meet the band after one of the upcoming shows- I'm pretty excited but nervous at the same time. I think a quick 'hello' & 'you guys are the best' might be appropriate. I will try to get a photo & post it after the meet & greet.
  13. OK, so those that have seen the show I'd like to know how it was. The setlist is epic looking and I am stoked that Rush is playing almost the entire new album, which is what a lot of people on the forum were hoping for. How was the show??
  14. I think '7 cities' would be epic live.
  15. It's not his flashiest album, but for the most part, what he is playing is exactly what works in the songs. My only complaint is that his solos are too short. Not in the sense that I think every solo needs to be an extended, epic piece, but there are some where, to my ear at least, it almost sounds like he recorded a really awesome solo and then just decided to chop the second half off. Absolutely what I was thinking! I would love to see some epic solos like 'here again' or 'freewill' etc.
  16. I am really digging this album, I consider it a masterpiece. That being said I would really like to hear some longer jams & longer guitar solos. I'm not a guitarist, but to me it seems like Alex hardly even solos in this album (with the exception of caravan & headlong flight), but it is just holding out notes & feedback etc. Can someone who plays guitar tell me what you think of his playing on this album? Is it tougher to play than it sounds? Thanks!
  17. I think headlong flight or clockwork angels or the garden would be a good time for a pee break.
  18. Happy Rush release day!! It is finally here! Going to pick it up at the mall tonight! Tuesday nights I go mountain biking with a bunch of guys & I will have to crank the new album for all the riders to hear! Enjoy this great day everyone!
  19. I'm going truly old school- after work I am driving to the mall to get me a copy- can't wait!
  20. I listened to clips and the 4 released songs, but am going old school and waiting till Tuesday for the official CD. Maybe Monday night if Best Buy will sell it to me.
  21. It took me a few listens (as it usually does with any Rush song) for me to like it. It is definitely a great song- my only gripe with it is in the slow section towrds the end, I would prefer just instrumental instead of Geddy's 'telephone voice'.
  22. I was on the fence about what to do. Just yesterday my brother helped me get the whole album online- very tempting to listen to the whole thing. I did listen to clips & put the Clockwork Angels title track on my ipod and listened to it, but decided I will go old school for the rest- wait till Tuesday & go to the mall & pick up the CD. With an album this good it only seems proper to go old school.
  23. Can someone perhaps pm me & help out a fellow Rush fan? I am not too familiar with file sharing, torrents etc. Thanks in advance.
  24. I missed one day on the forum, and I figured you guys found a way to listen to the album- how are you doing it?
