  1. That will always be a chip on his shoulder. But they did make amends, and played together years after he was fired.
  2. We did a few podcasts with Sonic Perspectives as well, but... 1) It didn't get as many views as I hoped for; 2) It involved A LOT of preparation, at least on my part; and 3) After a while, it became a bunch of inside jokes with all the collaborators of the site, with little interest for those outside that circle of friends...so we stopped doing them.
  3. I think the Sonic Perspectives channel is WAAAAY better. For starters, their interviewers are amazing guys. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/c/SonicPerspectives
  4. Michael Romeo, the guitarist and main composer of prog metal legends Symphony X, will release his second solo album, War of the Worlds Part 2, in a few weeks. I interviewed him to promote the album, and we spoke about Rush a little bit, his inspiration while writing the album, the touring plans with Symphony X and more. The interview is below:
  5. No. They will NEVER do that. I had a good chat with Andy Curran today, who was Rush's A&R and is the bass player of Envy of None. He was actually at Rush's headquarters in Mississauga, and showed me the dryers they used on the Vapor Trails tour.
  6. Here's my interview with Steve Rothery: If you can leave us a comment, like the video and subscribe to our channel, that would be great. These are ways you can help us by spending zero dollars.
  7. Saw them last Wednesday. My first show in more than two years!!!
  8. I wasn't impressed when Liar came out, but must admit that I liked the whole album more than I was ready to...I will have a chat with Andy Curran about the album, hopefully next week.
  9. Received the promo copy of the album today. Will listen to it later!
  10. I know the Hogarth output can sometimes be perceived as...lacking in testosterone, for lack of a better term. But repeated listens will yield amazing results.
  11. How come there's no official Marillion thread? And why were they so hated by Rush audiences in the 80's? I prefer the Fish era, but the Hogarth output does have a few gems. Their new album comes out in a few days, and here's one of the singles from it, which they already debuted live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcDFIKncAMA
  12. I'm here! Just not posting all that much anymore. And I'm still doing interviews with musicians! I did one with Steve Rothery of Marillion today! Rod, did you know your profile picture hasn't been showing for a while? I did not!
  13. I'm listening now. It's mastered very LOUD! Who's the drummer now? His sound is a bit dead. Mikkey Dee!!!!
  14. I'm here! Just not posting all that much anymore. And I'm still doing interviews with musicians! I did one with Steve Rothery of Marillion today!
  15. I saw them live in 2017, with Megadeth opening. They played a medley of 70's songs, and Motorhead's Overkill. It was a great show!
  16. Here's my interview with their guitar player:
  17. My review of the new album: https://www.sonicperspectives.com/album-reviews/voivod-synchro-anarchy/
  18. The setlist would have improved significantly if they dropped a song off the new album and added Glass Prison, and dropped Count of Tuscany and added Octavarium.
  19. Hahaha! Yes my brother. I will spending money on stuff on Sunday. Funny to note, on March 3 I'm driving down to Anaheim to see the last Ghost show of this leg. Sorry to hear that. Ghost sucks!!! Just kidding man, enjoy it!
  20. I hope their show in Toronto is confirmed - they're scheduled to play here on March 03rd, and haven't cancelled (knock on wood) yet. If this concert happens, it will be the first international act I'll see in over 2 years. I'll probably spend a week's worth of salary in merchandise!
  21. The new tour started last night, and this was the setlist: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dream-theater/2022/mesa-arts-center-mesa-az-3388c8cd.html What are your thoughts? I think MInistry and Tuscany together are overkill, but I do like those songs. I hope the show here in Toronto on March 03rd actually happens!
  22. Thank you! I had 5 or 6 more questions, but he elaborated A LOT in his replies. One of the things I didn't ask is what was his recollection of the late 70's when apparently the rise of punk meant the death of prog. I was only 4 at the time, but recently I've been reading that prog was a victim of its own excesses. I wanted to hear his thoughts on that, but it would have been another 15-minute reply! :D
