  1. Only the international dates are up, the US dates aren't up there yet :(
  2. I think this is the best album with the current lineup, which is saying a lot because I thought AMOLAD would be hard to top. I agree, Bruce makes this album. His 2 songs are probably my favorites on the album and his vocals are top notch across the board. I can't believe he can still singe like this at his age. But the whole thing is good without a bad song on it. They've definitely settled into a "formula" starting with Brave New World, and like every album since then, there are points where songs drag on a bit longer than they should, but this one has enough curve balls in it to make most of the songs worthy of their length, rather feeling like they are long for the sake of being long. I've never gotten to see them live (I'm a latecomer, sorry) and now I'm really anxious to see if they hit Philly next year!
  3. I think I agree with this overall, but have the remix on my phone because the original is too loud and distorted on my car stereo. At home on my semi-decent stereo I prefer the original. One of the "fan remixes" of the original floating around online is decent too.
  4. I thought this story was common knowledge. The video footage isn't hard to find either! Just don't click on that at work guys!
  5. Wish Them Well has some of Neil's worst lyrics, horrifying background vocals in the chorus and really generic music. I guess the bridge is ok but overall I think it's the worst song since Dog Years! Superconductor is OK but I'm not in a hurry to go out and listen to it any time soon.
  6. I thought he sounded good at the Philly show, he really only struggle with OLV & Lakeside Park, but I think he struggled with them every night! I was there and I've watched tapehead's show like 4-5 times!
  7. Best one since I discovered them (my first tour was VT) by far. The Hemispheres tour may have been better based on the bootlegs I've heard, but I can't decide.
  8. I'm not exactly young (33) but didn't get into them until their hiatus. I had always liked the songs I heard on the radio but never really looked into them further. One day I was at a local record store and they had used copies of Moving Pictures, Permanent Waves, Hemispheres, and Fly By Night on CD, for $3 each. I hated Hemispheres and FBN at first, and really only listened to the singles on the other 2 for a long time. One day I went on a somewhat long drive and grabbed Permanent Waves to listen to on a whim. When Natural Science came on is when they finally "clicked" with me! Which probably explains why to this day it's one of my favorites (if not all time favorite) songs by them.
  9. The 2nd half of Jacob's Ladder is anything but simple! But I do think maybe they avoided this song because they thought the tempo would bore the audience. They were probably surprised by the reception it got!
  10. I posted this in another thread, but my girlfriend made me these coasters for Valentine's Day :dweez:
  11. I got my copy of Presto for $1 at a flea market :) In near mint condition too! I'd consider getting Counterparts & RTB, and would definitely get VT if they put it out on vinyl (as long as it was the remix) Don't care about T4E or Snakes, and I have the rest of the studio albums on vinyl already! Getting into Rush just before the death of the local record store was great, because I was able to get most of them for under $5. Except my Hemisphere's picture disk!
  12. Nice. The picture quality isn't that great, but my girlfriend made me these coasters for Valentines Day this year: https://scontent-lga.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t31.0-8/10830637_10204645767479014_2137229533348117385_o.jpg
  13. They filmed the Toronto shows. I'm fully expecting fans to put together a really good multi-cam video from audience footage. Sort of like the Project R30 from Radio City Music Hall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPw8Cqkq788
  14. I'm with Bard, I think this is it. So you all better get some really awesome recordings of this show for me!
  15. I own every studio & live album through Snakes & Arrows on CD, and everything from the debut through Presto (plus Moving Pictures Live & Clockwork Angels) on vinyl. I have 5 shirts. I own the Rush in Rio, Replay 3 disc set & Clockwork Angels dvds. I downloaded the Snakes & Arrows dvd (because I honestly don't think it's very good) and the R30 Bluray (because I don't have a Bluray player) I would consider downloading the "extras" on the R40 boxset if I could find them.
  16. I've "only" seen them 6 times but this was by far the best. So yeah, I am bummed that I probably won't get to see them again, but what a way to go!
  17. This was probably the best I've seen them. Almost flawless. A couple minor flubs: -Neil came off beat at the beginning of the midsection of Natural Science, recovered nicely but skipped a fill to stay on beat -Alex started the outro of 2112's finale a few bars early, but the other guys caught on and recovered nicely -Geddy was struggling a bit on the vocals on a few songs towards the end, but sounded great most of the night, and the songs he was having trouble on still sounded better than most of the bootlegs I've heard. But that's really nitpicking, honestly. If this really is the last time I get to see them it's a great way to remember them.
  18. We'll really have to see what they play in Montreal before anybody knows what set they're gonna get from here on out. They're obviously playing songs they want to be on the dvd, but who knows if that's going to affect the rotation on the rest of teh tour :/
  19. I thought it was well done too, I just don't like the audio mix.
  20. And if they stick to the rotation we'll get the B & C setlists which gives them the most alternate songs to include as bonus tracks :)
  21. Nice.... it makes sense for most likely their final dvd to be shot in their hometown. And right in the middle of the 2nd leg when Geddy's voice will probably be at it's strongest.
  22. I like all 3 setlists but C is by far my favorite... and I just checked, and if they stick to the current rotation that's what I'll be getting when they play Philly! :)
  23. Nice. Honestly in my opinion there isn't a bad song in this set. I could do without RTB but it's not bad aside from the rap. THe first set is just a really solid selection of good songs, but no big surprises. The 2nd half & encore are insane. I am interested to see what they end up swapping tomorrow.
  24. How did they do Animate? The Counterparts/T4E tour version or like the slower version from R30?
