  1. QUOTE (g under p @ Sep 27 2010, 08:59 PM) They seem to like the show but only 11,500. I thought they were playing bigger outdoor ampitheaters. Peace 11,500 is in line with the crowd amounts Neil talks about in Roadshow (which was 2 tours ago but they're playing a lot of the same venues.) That's a lot of people!
  2. I have a 3/4 sleeve red & black shirt, and a dark grey/black work shirt, both from the Vapor Trails tour. Also an original Signals tour 3/4 shirt. .... and none of them fit me! The Vapor Trails ones are Large, and the Signals one is a Small - and it's a small from almost 30 years ago, so it's reallllllllllllly small.
  3. Thats nothing. He tossed a stick into the air at the beginning of the first Red Rocks show, and it came down and he caught it just as they finished the encore from the 2nd night's show.
  4. He could keep 4 or 5 helium baloons on strings somewhere on his side of the stage.
  5. Finding My Way Anthem Necromancer Something for Nothing AFTK Hemispheres Natural Science Camera Eye The Weapon Between The Wheels (favorite on the album and I missed the last 2 tours) Middletown Dreams Open Secrets Show Don't Tell Bravado Cold Fire Time and Motion Freeze We Hold On Dunno yet!
  6. I'm not a singer but from what I can tell, while his range has diminished and he can't hit the high notes so much these days, he's much more consistent at hitting the notes that are still in his range, than he was in the past.
  7. It's still a great song and I have not gotten tired of hearing it on cd or seeing them play it live.
  8. If they tour Europe it will be a Clockwork Angels tour, not a Time Machine tour. That's the only reason I think they might keep Camera Eye in the set (since that's the big thing most people are looking forward to on this tour.)
  9. absolutely no way they will do the whole album. I could see them POSSIBLY leaving Camera Eye in, but most likely we'll just get songs from side 1. They are going to be promoting a NEW album and it would make no sense to dedicate 1/4 of the set to a 30 year old album.
  10. Anybody who thinks they're still going to do all of MP next summer is nuts! Next tour will be supporting a NEW album, not a 30 year old one. If they play an entire album, it will be the new one. I'm about 50/50 thinking they will do that. If not, we can probably at least expect MOST of the album to get played, like the S&A tour.
  11. yeah i love the new patch, it makes me want to
  12. Don't forget that a lot of us young'uns have cameras that are also phones. It'll be a cold day in hell before a venue bans cell phones!
  13. 1. It's my favorite Alex record. I love the minimalist approach he took, his tone, his solos, everything. I'm glad he didn't stick with this style for too long. He doesn't really play like this on any other album, and it really shows his versatility. 2. I like the cold/sterile production because it works well with the themes of the majority of the songs. 3. Red Lenses sucks (sorry, I had to put one bad thing in here) It's not my favorite Rush album, but it's probably my most played (does that even make sense???)
  14. Underrated: Freeze! It doesn't get much love around here, I think it's the best song on Vapor Trails, and one of those rare instances where the shitty production worked in the song's favor. Too bad they probably can't do this one live Overrated: Bytor!!! Ok, the solo section is cool but the growling noises kinda ruin it. The rest of the song is just a typical early attempt at writing an epic, before the band really figured out how to get it right.
  15. I have the same combination on my luggage!
  16. haha, Converge is in my top 10 bands ever, along with Rush. Seen them 5-6 times, have every album! They've been doing it for over 15 years so I wouldn't expect them to "grow out of it" anytime soon
  17. Fun fact: Neil loves personally meeting fans, but the band's security is not so accomodating. Just push them down on your way to Neil!
  18. This is a stretch, but what if they do this: Have some sort of drum-focused part on the new album (think like Didacts & Narpets) that, when played live, is turned into a full-on drum solo. Then Alex comes out and plays this acoustic thing, which is either a straight-up acoustic number (like Resist on the VT tour) or just an extended acoustic intro to a song. I'm still basing this on my assumption that they're going to play the whole new album live on the next tour.
  19. These are small venues? The Camden show was the same venue they've played at every time they come around (in the summer at least) since the T4E tour.
  20. QUOTE (moedrabowsky @ Jul 23 2010, 10:11 AM) QUOTE (Jomboni @ Jul 22 2010, 10:07 PM) FYI - Venues typically take 50% of merch revenue, so half of that $40 for a shirt is gone, as far as the band is concerned. Not that they couldn't still bring the price down a bit... The shirts are also $40 at the Rush backstage club, sao they aren't jacked up just to cover the venue's take. Do you have a link or source for that? I'm just curious, because 50 percent sounds like an awfully high figure for a venue to receive on licensed merchandise. All I have is anecdotal evidence from several bands, and one experience opening for a fairly large touring band. Their merch guys told us to lie about the # of shirts & cds we sold, because the venue takes a 50% cut.
  21. Except for Faithless, I absolutely loved the set live. I was on the fence about a few other songs, but they won me over!
  22. Apparently there are official "bootleg" shirt sellers walking around, INSIDE the venue, selling the RASH shirts. I didn't come across any at the Camden show but I know they are out there!
  23. FYI - Venues typically take 50% of merch revenue, so half of that $40 for a shirt is gone, as far as the band is concerned. Not that they couldn't still bring the price down a bit...
  24. I was really looking forward to hearing this song live, but yeah, it ended up being a total clunker Kind of sucked the momentum out of the first set. I was even into the 3 songs leading up to it (I wasn't sure how well they'd work live) but Faithless finally had my whole section sitting down... we all got right back up for the next song though!
