This is very goodly news! A live CD without a lot of the same-old same old!
-
Now that would be awesome to see. The sound from thoses shows is of the highest quality. Good for Roger!

Well...I am really happy that the band will continue to deliver their sound in 2013. I am hoping that, if there are future tours, the following will take place: 1. A well-balanced set list. Now...this does not mean going back to the beginning of creation to pull tracks. IMO, VT was the last really great album tour because they mixed their new material in with the other stuff. The past two tours, fans got a chunk of new stuff all at once. Whatever possessed someone to think this up? In all honesty, CA did not have to be delivered back-toback-to-back-to-back-to-back.... 2. Diversity regarding their stops. Some markets that had lower attendance figures have been RUSH saturated. Don't they have a tour strategist? With the "economy" concerns, one would think that they would understand that abscence makes the heart grow fonder. 3. Intro/Outro videos face a violent death. Yup..... 4. Better VIP Packages. Seriously? A band known for quality throwing this crap out to the fans? I won't even go into the waiting period issue.... In sum, it has been made clear to me that RUSH is not a band that understands the term balance too well. With all of the material that they have and the nice following that they generate, it seems strange that they do not mix it up even more. Just an opinion. Bash away.

Found out that my order "has been created" and will be shipping ASAP.

LMAO on the "no brainer" for R40.

What did you think of the intro/outro videos?

I'm hoping they scrap the intro/outro crap entirely. They are musicians...not acotrs/comedians. -
Most miserable person you've seen at a Rush show?
drgrendel replied to Alchemical's topic in On The Lighted Stage
I understand what you are saying. However: 1. I probably would not have seen it because I concentrate on what is happening on the stage and not what is going on with the audience. 2. I have been next to (floor seats) people who have sat through concerts (RUSH shows higher enrgy level shows than RUSH I may add), showing no emotion no nothing - who have praised the event and the band after it was over. In sum, they enjoyed the crap out of it. Sorry but unless someone tells me directly that they like or dislike something, I will never assume that I know. -

Well then I guess you would label me as being bored and miserable at a RUSH show. Wonder why I continue to go? BTW ~ If I would, in my profession, draw conclusions based upon- "I know it when I see it" line, I would be fired. -

Maybe they had an emergency at home? How do you know they even left the building? Could they have joined friends at other seats? Maybe they went backstage? Seriously? How does one jump to such astute conclusions? -
Completely agree with the CA comments, but this was not their best set list....not by a mile. Completely agree with the CA comments, but this was not their best set list....not by a mile. Yup.....right on the money. CA is awesome, but the set list is well below past tours.

IMO, they need to be dropped. Get back to playing more music. -
Where's My Thing? is not translating well live.

Yes....I have to agree with the above posters...it was awesome! -
Still waiting for Pittsburgh stuff....only want Tour book - rest can be given away as X-mas gifts.
-
I can like, totallyagree dude, to final leg of 2013. Unicorns do not exist...neither will 40th Anniversary Tour.
-
Well it is official now...after the Bruce Springsteen experience in State College, RUSH VIP Packages can bugger off. BTW - he plays longer than RUSH too....

I wonder why it was just Buffalo? *spoilers*
drgrendel replied to cygnus_thegodofbalance's topic in On The Lighted Stage
I agree. I listened to the Buffalo show, and Limelight felt very out of place between the two PoW songs. And the performance felt very through the motions to me, too. -Jane Well, i'll speak as someone who was actually at the show.Limelight didn't seem out of place to me and wasn't " throught the motions". +1 - heard peeps rave about the inclusion of Limelight and its placement in the set. Go figure... -

I never understood why people didn't cry at funerals. Then I stopped caring about how others reacted for I learned that folks have their own ways of dealing with and reacting to situations. When I am at a RUSH show, there are only 4 people present. Care to know who they may be?...... So, in essence, I really do not care who is happy or who is miserable at a RUSH show. Not my concern. -
Who makes the decision regarding what stuff to put in the VIP Packages (including the quality of the products)? I am no expert on such thing, but I am thinking that nicer stuff could included in the packages without making it a financial drain. Really disappointed here... Guess I will go back to my standard means of getting prime seats...will be less expensive too!

First RUSH concert my fiance attends with me, we land front row....she clapped and smiled the entire time. In her own words..."I absorbed the whole show." I expected her to enjoy it in her own way. I really do not get all these expectations that posters are placing here....this is America right? -

I'm so TIRED of the SAME SHIT. Stop ENABLING THEM TO PLAY THE SAME SONGS ALL THE TIME. Thers no crying is RUSHDOM! Hearing that opening riff to Limelight NEVER gets old to me, especially when it would be replacing a snoozer like Body Electric. +1 -

that or after drinking a 12'er of genny cream ale and ripping a few hits through a Chiavettas filled bong Alex felt particulary inspired. seriously though, buffalo is a rush crazy town, i lived there in the 70's and saw my first show at the aud. i remember a battle of the bands on 97 rock and it came down to rush and bob seger, with seger winning. I remember when Rush beat Zep for the "Battle of the Bands" on 97 Rock. I cannot remember the year though....Long Live "Snortin' Norton!" -

At one point in my life I used to wonder why everyone at a concert didn't go absolutely nuts whilst the band they were seeing was performing. As i have grown older and matured, I have realized that people have their own reasonings for attending a show and and have a myriad of ways to enjoy it. I tend to just concentrate on my own level and enjoyment and let people to themselves. In sum, a person sitting down at a concert is not necessarily miserable. I can personally attest to that.
