  1. That was a totally awesome show for sure. I think my voice is now finally back;) As Ged stated, they left it all on the stage. Loved Alex's grin and animations, he was having a blast! Ged was spot on and his voice I thought sounded really good. Neil was superb as usual and it was so cool feeling his thundering drums reverberating through my chilled bones! The Gorge has an awesome huge screen behind Neil and some of the close in shots of all 3 were just amazing. 21 rows back and I didn't need the screen but it was nice. Place was packed and the gorge was absolutely spectacular, as usual. If you have never been to this venue and you have the chance, don't miss it! It's one of the best on the west coast hands down. JC, great video's, killer actually. Do you have more? I'd love any and all that you have, your setup is great! Glad I got to see their last show of 2011 and it was worth seeing them both times near Seattle. DAMN, can't believe the tour is over but we'll hopefully all get to see them after the new CD and subsequent tour! All is right with the world when you're a RUSH fan!!! HAS
  2. My bud and I will be in 102 row 21, can't wait to see the LAST SHOW ON THIS TOUR! Beautiful venue, sure it's hot/dusty but all in all, one of the best venues in the state of WA. We are camping for the weekend so the party will be ON! RUSH ROCKS!!!
  3. But I must help my mother stand up straight! [i too love this song and album, very powerful]

Have always loved this Trilogy, all 3 are awesome songs and I go back and forth as to which song I love the best. Even love the keyboards in the Weapon! HAS
  5. Saw them in Seattle and can't believe the tour is over. I really wanted to make a second show, but just couldn't justify the cost/travel (especially since they didn't play in Vancouver). Damn, how do you feel "satisfied" with seeing only one show? Those of you that have seen several shows on this tour, maybe you do but c'mon. As soon as the lights came on after the final note, I was sad and wanted to recreate the whole concert experience again! You know what is cool about reading all your thoughts? It brings a big smile to my face. It makes me treasure the fact that I have followed the boys since the beginning, thanks to my nextdoor neighbor who told me I had to buy their debut album many, many years ago Soooo cool to hear that many of you went to see them for the first time this tour, VERY cool! How many other longtime bands can boast this? Who knows how many albums/tours we will get to see... But I just cherish everything they do. From the past to what is new. Can't wait for the new album and subsequent tour! LONG LIVE RUSH!!! Hatchet/Ax/Saw
  6. So awesome to see/hear all three speaking...thanks! Geddy: "look at those glasses eating my entire face!!!"
  7. Wow, reading all your reviews and comments from the Lone Star state is making me sad now that it's been almost two months since the boys played in Seattle. I want to see them again! Can't believe that anyone can find anything negative about these guys. They are playing the best they ever have and their sound has evolved into nothing but perfection! "Masters of their own domain!" Love that!!! HAS
  8. QUOTE (librarian @ Sep 7 2010, 01:01 PM)It all went so fast. It was like planning for a wedding - purchased my tickets back in April and waiting and planning then Blam! it happened and it's over and frankly, I'm a little depressed. I know what you mean Librarian. So much build-up, so much anticipation and the actual concert goes by waaay too fast I'm thrilled that these guys are still playing and rocking as awesome as ever so this glass is definitely half full!
  9. QUOTE (LedZep @ Sep 1 2010, 05:15 PM)The photographer who takes these photos is a very nice guy named John Arrowsmith. I would imagine that he has some financial stake in the photos (that's my assumption). If you really like a couple, purchase them. It's not expensive, and you're paying someone for their great work. Whoa, I wasn't trying to imply that this "work around" is a viable alternative to purchasing the photo's. I definitely support this guys work and he deserves to be paid. I wanted an electronic copy of one photo for my desktop, and that is where I was coming from. HAS
  10. Awesome read, thanks! So cool to read that Alex feels they are playing at their peak!!! I would agree:)
  11. Wow, interesting "discussion" to say the least... To me this all boils down to "enjoying the concert/RUSH experience!" Me, I don't want to miss a single second of each song! It's simple, you don't do things at a concert that detracts from others enjoyment. You don't get in fights cuz people are standing in front of you and you can't see. You don't get so drunk that you're spitting in ppl's faces and spilling beer on their shoes. And you don't scam by squeezing into a row where you don't belong, regardless of whether you're a cute girl or not. You might think it's not bothering anyone but encroaching on ppl's space is probably an issue 98% of the time and most ppl just plain think it's rude. Switching seats with someone is fine becuz it doesn't cause a scene. I won't touch the "who spent what" for argument. There are always ppl in the front row that are more concerned with texting than the concert. Too bad but it's their loss, one that they'll never realize... My GAWD, when I'm at a RUSH concert I just wanna enjoy the band and it pisses me off when ppl are aholes and try to ruin it for me. So, be considerate, sit in the seat for the stub you are holding, and don't ruin MY experience. I am not ruining yours!!! HAS
  12. Damn java-script can be pesky when they lock it down. I've searched high/low looking for a right-click save as tweak. As others have said, screen clipping/capture tools seem to be the only thing that works. At least for me;) For grins, has anyone purchased some of these pics? And was it worth it?
  13. I would certainly hope that they'd release the whole show, all songs from this tour. One of the coolest aspects of that is watching the DVD and remembering how awesome the concert was, wherever you saw them! Great memories!!!
  14. AWESOME if true! Hey, RUSH is smart enuf to realize that putting out a DVD each tour is not only profitable, but smart for the fans!
  15. I have gone from one fav song to another with this album. Imo this is a sleeper album. I always loved Big Money, then it was Manhattan Project, then Mystic Rhythms, but I'd still have to say that Marathon has just a great feel to it. And as one poster said, it's Geddy at his best! It's not the most meaningful (lyric-wise) but I just wanna jam to it...
  16. QUOTE (Hakky2112 @ Aug 11 2010, 01:39 AM) Aww yaa, Marathon for the first time in 24 years, ooaa yeaa. This show rocked so hard I pity the phoow who has a beef, cus where;s the beef? IT'S IN THE GeFilter!!! http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=AFE70B453F45A684 Hakky: Oooh yea baby, thanks for the post! Marathon has always been one of my hidden fav's. It's so awesome that this band can pull one out of the vault and it can totally make a concert!
  17. That drum stick story is priceless! So glad there are some cool roadies that have some class...
  18. QUOTE (RodrigoAltaf @ Aug 10 2010, 06:22 AM) subdivisions to me, regardless of where it's paced in the setlist, is an untouchable song. It should be on each and every concert they play, as it speaks directly to the majority of Rush fans. It's right up there with Tom Sawyer and TSOR as their most important songs. No doubt rodrigo. That song always reminds me of my first job, washing dishes at Denny's... Crankin that tune in the pit was so cool!
  19. QUOTE (Nate1647 @ Aug 9 2010, 12:06 PM) but when i hear comments behind me during marathon (one of the top songs of the night IMO) like, "This whole set is a joke, I'm only here for TCE" it just infuriates me. Couldn't agree more with you. I thought Marathon was absolutely awesome. Gave me chills and probably enjoyed that song the most!
  20. Rush Rockers, To answer some of ur questions, the reason I wanted to tailgate was becuz this venue (a beautiful amphitheater, but on a reservation) did not open their food booths until 1.5 hrs before the concert. Oh yea, their beer lines were open at 3 hrs prior, but no food? AND it was raining, and raining fairly hard so the fire threat was moot! And if you've never tailgated before an event like a concert, sporting event, etc. you are seriously missing out. We had people walking by trying to suckup and get some of my food and drinks. We were having a blast and they were walking in to buy shitty beer at $12 a pop! Another reason, I had already paid $120 for my seat, plus I wanted to buy a couple shirts. Tailgating was a great way to help keep costs down. @yyz98, I agree that a lot of security guards are on power trips and they are really just idiots trying to boss people around for their own pleasure. Problem with this venue is the Native Americans (at this place) don't really give a shit about your experience. They just want to make money and not have any problems. It's not the most fan friendly place to see an event and every time I go here there are issues with the staff it seems. And why didn't the dad have his boys stand in their seats? Good question and I never bothered to ask. I told him to F-off and that was good enuf for me! Bottom line, my enjoyment of the concert was waaaay more important to me than what a 4 & 6 yr could even comprehend or enjoy. RUSH is my favorite band and there was no way I wasn't going to have a good time! @Chevyman2112, so everyone is a douche if they wanna stand and won't sit becuz you can't stand up? That's f'd up thinking man. I say don't go to the concert then. On this night probably 80% of the entire crowd was standing for virtually the entire concert! And that includes the seats and the grass! @Joshua, exactly. He just said "my kids can't see" like it was my f'g problem. And when he started dropping the F-bombs in front of his kids that's when I decided I wasn't doing anything he wanted. I even told him that now I planned on standing the rest of the show:) He left with his kids with about 4 songs left so obviously he wasn't too big of a fan anyway... @losingit2k, you may be right! But I hope not, this lil f'er was just plain mean... @danielmclark all your points are valid. But the one thing that I am always cognizant of is this: If everyone or mostly everyone is standing then I am too. If most everyone sits for a song than I usually do to. I wasn't trying to make any point as we all know how that crap goes. I just wanted to let everyone know that in spite of all the bullshit I had to endure, I still appreciated the concert and loved hearing every second of the boys play!
  21. My Seattle experience from two days ago was the best and worst of both worlds. (Sorry for the long post, and my rants)... The good: I thought the boys played their asses off and I would definitely agree with other posters here that they were very playful. That was cool to see! The crowd was awesome, probably the biggest RUSH gathering at this venue ever. The grass section looked full and during rain that place aint the funnest place to be. The set list was pretty good imo. Some of the songs I really wanted to hear (Marathon, Wrkg Them Angels, Camera Eye, Witch Hunt) were spine tingling. Sure there were a couple of songs in the first set I would replace but as others have stated, the 2nd set was simply awesome! The sound, light show/graphics totally spectacular! I've been a fan from day one and seen the guys several times. I'm just happy they are still jamming together and they always play Seattle The bad: First, we tried to tailgate only to be told "you can't put your tent there, and you certainly cannot bbq anywhere on the premises!" I'm like, "WTF, it's raining out dude!" So I did what any hardcore RUSH fan would do. Cranked up my RUSH tunes very loudly, and waited for the ahole to leave and started up the BBQ! It worked great! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink39.gif The ugly: We were sitting in 208, row 2, seats 1&2. So I was on the aisle, standing up from the get-go bobbing my head, singing to myself, playin base, air drumming, the whole bit. After the second song, the guy behind me says, "my sons can't see!" I said I'm sorry but I paid good money for my seats and I'm gonna stand up and sing/cheer as I please. Keep in mind this dad had sons 4 & 6 sit'g with him, pretty young and they probably could care less about the show. A couple songs later same thing, and this time he was dropping F-bombs at me right in front of his boys. At this point the gloves were off and I let him know exactly what I thought of his so called parenting skills & I didn't give a flip what he thought & that he could go sit somewhere else. Seconds later two more guys behind the dad also get into it with me and I'm yelling at now 3 or 4 guys all saying they can't see! By this point I'm sooo F'g po'd that I'm ready for a fight of any magnitude. Long story short, I just ignored them, I stood up when I wanted and sat down when I wanted to. Who the F brings kids 4 & 6 to a rock concert THEN has the audacity to tell me to sit down!?!? And the most pathetic thing about these aholes? I'd say probably 80% of the entire crowd was standing for most of or all of the concert! Anyway, the deuchebags behind me kinda ruined a couple songs for me but i still enjoyed my night! RUSH is my all time fav band and there was NO way I was gonna let anyone ruin my enjoyment! The really ugly: After the show my buddy and I went down to the stage to look for guitar pics. While he was scouting the floor, I started talking to one of the roadies. I said (sincerely) "nice job, you guys are unsung hero's." I also asked this gentlemen (probably about 45'ish) how you get a job like yours. He said "win a bet..." I laughed and once again said thanks for doing a good job. I had just started to walk away when a young roadie punk (who had heard my convo with the other guy) turns around, gives me a dirty look, then back kicks a water bottle right at me spraying water in my face. Truly, it was like the back kick of the century, direct hit! I said WTF was that for? And he said get the F outta here. Wow, I lit into him and my buddy had to hold me back from climbing up on the stage. This punk was probably late 20's and again, I wasn't talking to him, wasn't being disrespectful at all. Maybe there is this unwritten rule about not talking to roadies, but c'mon dude, grow the hell up... After all that excitement we thought it best to go back to the car and chill out while traffic died down. I'm not an antagonistic person and I wasn't shit-faced drunk. But it seems like everyone was out to get me that night... http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/confused13.gif Still love my:
