Exquiste execution of the classics is what we've come to expect from the boys over the years, except where they intentionally mix it up a bit. I prefer when they play the classics to perfection as on the original recordings. But while playing the standards last night in Irvine I noticed their body language seeming to say to the crowd "Look guys, this shit is so easy for us to play. We've been doing this for what 30 years now? Allow us to indulge ourselves occasionally as we go off on a tangent or two." I for one, am ok with that. Anyone else pick up on that vibe?
