  1. Ever heard of Zeppelin? they are from England. Go listen to the 2007 O2 show. Rush can do that. And IT WILL STILL SOUND LIKE RUSH.... if you really need it to match the studio recordings, 2 things- 1. it's never going to happen cuz ged is older now and secondly- stay home and whack off listening to the studio albums. Geese freaking louise.
  2. uhhh...not possible. 2 whole steps???????????????? geesh.
  3. Not many...They need to just tune down to D and rock out some old-school gems. This one band did it a few years ago, and 1,000,000 people tried to get tickets to see the one show they played. I think they were called Led-Zeppelin or something like that? All the people who complain about them tuning down on things like Circumstances from SA tour need to build a bridge and get over it. Do you wanna hear old-school Rush or Dreamline again for the 400th time?
  4. all of you gals are missing the point. it's not your fault, you can only "go with what you've got".
  5. Anyone own snakes & arrows on vinyl? Cant seem to finda copy for less than $300....yikes
  6. I believe it was dr. McCoy who said (while making reference to 2 young doctor "noobs" talking out of their ass): sounds like the damn spanish inquisition...
  7. then u should "consider" learning more about the instrument.....'cause that is not even close to a trill.
  8. Does the OP have a job and actually work at the job? Seriously, some people have way too much free time on their hands.
  9. He he ...if it's at the house of blues, I'm in!
  10. I'm a hardcore "fan", but hate everything after 2000. then you are not a hard Core Fan. A hard core fan understands that " No Changes are Permanent" and excepts what ever direction they have decided to venture towards. Including recording and touring with Keyboards or Strings. :codger: Actually you can create a great and versatile set list with just songs from Counterparts onward. Alternates are in Italics. Set 1: Far Cry Caravan BU2B (album Version-(Never Played Live) Cut to the Chase (Never Played Live) Vapor Trail (Never Played Live) Earth Shine / Half the World Driven (with Bass Solo) Limbo / Drum Solo #1 / Main Monkey Business Ceiling Unlimited (Remixed w-solo) (Never Played Live) One Little Victory (Remixed w-Solo) (Never Played Live) Set 2: The Anarchist Carnies Stick it Out Alien Shore (Never Played Live) Sweet Miracle (Never Played Live) Working Them Angels / Way the Wind Blows Nobody's Hero The Wreckers The Garden Mal-Nar/ Drum Solo #2 Alex's Electric Solo - Seven Cities of Gold / Animate Test For Echo Clockwork Angels Encore: Cold Fire Secret Touch Headlong Flight :rush: :haz: :rush: Horrible....and bu2b has been played live...the 20 seconds added to the CA version doesn't really change that. But what a god awful set. Let's not go there for a while ladies.
  11. some songs could go away IMO...far cry for example is a forced "hit". big money, dreamline and a few others this tour could have been left out. and did we really need working them angels 2 tours/blu rays in a row? I dig what the OP is saying...rush puts out a blu ray for every tour since they came back...and there is a LOT of repeats on them. and geddy just cannot sing most stuff pre-PW, without detuning; which I wish they would do anyways...this band from England did that a few years ago- you know- those zeppelin guys, it sounded "OK". seriously, the boys should visit that notion for R40. 2112 and circumstances sound pretty f-ing good to me! keep TS, spirit of radio and even freewill to get the casual fan, but cater to me!
  12. blu ray gives you best sound quality...just not for your car. get the blu ray and the CD after you can find it on ebay used.
  13. The clip at 11:45 is called "Alex shreds at age 18"
  14. is it just me or is there WAY TOO MUCH pink and red light on the video on the blu ray...it looks very strange on a lot of the first set songs especially. my system is balls delux, so i would love to knwo if anyone else sees this issue...looks like a pink t-shirt was over a few of the cameras when they filmed...
  15. Where I saw it, it was only the 2nd half. It was like they put the 2nd disc on or something....crowd was about 65% full in the theatre. But at first, when it was the 2nd half video intro, then caravan...I was like WTF!?!, hoping they would put the first set on after the 2nd one was over...but they did not. The video was a little grainy...but wadda ya gonna do? No one else seemed to care and/or realize that we missed out on over an hour of the show. Nowhere did it really say or hint that you'd only get part of the movie...it was over 2 hours, as they played the video tour documentary. But I am still pissed because I paid $30 for my son and i see what I had planned on being everything from subdivisions to grand finale, plus the extra tracks...guess that will wait till tonight when I get the freaking blu ray. I hope I was not the only one in America who had this experience....
  16. A thread like this should include PHOTOS ladies....before and after maybe?
  17. So now since the boys are in, all of the sudden folks round here give a shit about the rock hall?
  18. It should be aired on VH1 or similar before the nov19 release...but when damnit? When? I am tired of watching clips on YouTube from people's phones...
  19. You should try hearing it from the 5.1 blu ray on a denon/Polk 5.1 system....amazing.
  20. the OP has a "REAL issue withe side 2 of MP"...so i have a real issue with the OP. kinda douche-Y post in general. the real problem is the OP's ears.
  21. That's like asking if you'd have sex with a really hot girl a second time after she had rocked your socks off the night before...
  22. I dig it...it's a fresh approach. Did anyone else notice that he rotated his kit mid-song for the first time? Can't remember exact song but it was in the 2nd set ...it got the crowds attention. I think the professor is on top of his game.
  23. QUOTE (drgrendel @ Oct 5 2012, 11:11 AM) QUOTE (billybobjoe1881 @ Oct 4 2012, 09:31 PM) QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Oct 4 2012, 07:16 AM) QUOTE (Gemari77 @ Oct 4 2012, 09:38 AM) The problem comes in when tickets are purchased months in advance, and you have no idea that the band is going to ignore almost all of their most well known songs. That's going to happen with older bands that are still making new music, still experimenting, still striving to keep their careers fresh and exciting. One can buy tickets to a KISS concert a year in advance and know exactly what will be played. Can't do that with Rush or any other band that's still putting out new music. Kiss is releasing a new album on tuesday. From what I am hearing...it is not too bad at all. I bet KISS sells-out all over the place after this release. KISS plays a total of about 12-13 songs live. WTF is that all about? not cool to boast touring with motley crue, only to short change fans.
  24. QUOTE (ALifeson85 @ Oct 3 2012, 07:43 PM) ...as to why so many "casual" concert goers / casual Rush "fans" complain about what Rush decides to play on tour. You see, the average classic rock concert goer, is WAY TOO USED to seeing bands like Aerosmith, Kiss, Def Leppard, etc. who are ALL very notorious for playing the SAME "Greatest Hits" setlists, tour, after tour, after tour, after tour...and the fans are USED TO IT. 80% of them only see Aerosmith, to hear "Dream On", "Dude Looks Like A Lady", "Back In The Saddle", and "Love in an Elevator". They see Kiss to hear "Detroit Rock City", "Rock & Roll All Night", "Shout It Out Loud", and "Lick It Up". They see Def Leppard to hear "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Photograph", "Foolin'", and "Bringing On The Heartbreak." And fans will ALWAYS get those, and all the other radio hits, when they see those bands. ...Then they see and/or hear an advertisement for the upcoming RUSH tour. "Oh man, RUSH!! I LOVE "Chronicles"! I GOTTA GET TICKETS!!" - not knowing that Rush has put out ALOT of music since 1987. They buy tickets for the show. (let's use the "Clockwork Angels" tour for this scenario) They GO to the show. Show starts. The band opens with "Subdivisions", "The Big Money", and "Force Ten". "HELLS YEAH!! ", exclaims unidentified concert goer. He now expects to hear EVERY Greatest Hits/Chronicles song. Doesn't happen. Then comes the "Clockwork Angles" suite. "WTF is THIS SH*T?! ". By the end of the concert, the guy is so irate, he spends the rest of his days on AN INTERNET FORUM, BITCHING ABOUT THE SETLIST. (Not mentioning names) So in a way, bands like Aerosmith, Kiss, and Def Leppard, SPOIL average concert goers so much, that it ruins anti-nostalgia bands like Rush for them. They figure since THOSE bands play ALLLLLL the same hits on every tour, they expect the same thing from Rush. And here's the funny thing about people complaining about there not being "enough hits" played on the current tour. If you think about it, Rush has sorta ALREADY did two...yes, TWO "Greatest Hits" tours : R30, and the Time Machine Tour. I'll recap: (NOTICE: this includes both "radio hits" AND "greatest hits" found on Rush compilations: Chronicles, Retrospective, etc.) 30th Anniversary Tour, we got : The Spirit of Radio, Force Ten, Subdivisions, YYZ, Red Barchetta, The Trees, Tom Sawyer, Mystic Rhythms, Red Sector A, 2112, La Villa Strangiato, Xanadu, Working Man, Limelight. Time Machine Tour, we got : The Spirit of Radio, Time Stand Still, Freewill, Marathon, Subdivisions, Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, YYZ, Limelight, Closer To The Heart, 2112, La Villa Strangiato, Working Man. I don't know about you guys - but that's ALOT of "hits", from BOTH tours. But what I don't get, is that some of the people complaining about the Clockwork Angels setlists, and their lack of "hits" and/or over-abundance of mid-80's tunes, are the same people who also attended the R30 and/or Time Machine Tours, got to enjoy all those hits they like, then complain about the "Clockwork" tour - KNOWING that Rush has never been a "nostalgia band"! yeah, and a lot of people think that ALOT is a word, and they use it a lot...but that's wrong too.
