  1. Nice work....CNN should be calling soon. Headlong Flights - OutFront and On Location Tombstone Mountain : Parts Almost Known TM R40* - Situations
  2. I don't see them switching up anything, especially the encore. Maybe they add a song to the existing setlists for the Toronto shows. I think they would like to capture both Set A & Set B, with all 8 song rotations and hopefully squeeze in YYZ one night and Natural Science on the other night. All songs from all three sets on the DVD would be cool. And then add a bonus disc...Live in LA....A 3 disc Live R-40....Thank you. Good night
  3. To me Heavy Metal means heavy guitars... It doesn't have to have long hair and intense screams of demonic lyrics...Of course that doesn't hurt either. One of my personal criteria for being a Heavy Metal band is having two guitars players....or one freakishly heavy sounding player like Tony Iommi or Ritchie Blackmore.. But usually two dueling guitars....preferably the lead and rhythm being able to switch back and forth. Judas Priest is the best example. Scorpions, UFO, Iron Maiden and Metallica are great examples of two lead guitars at times. By-Tor pretty much ruins my Heavy Metal qualifying criteria theory. And Cygnus is pretty metalish and doesn't really fit into the Hard Rock genre. i conclude that Rush has several Heavy Metal songs ....but do not fall under the genre of Heavy Metal
  4. It's about the beginning of Space and Time an the evolution of Man on Earth and beyond.... No....Wait....I thinks that's what Star Trek is about.
  5. After Rush takes a well deserved 2-3 year break. I could see them recording another album. I just don't think they would want to tour and don't think they would be able to tour at the level they are accustomed to. Maybe.....There could be 1-2 festival type live appearances a year.....maybe.
  6. I wasn't saying that in the sense of the fact that it was a guitar, but more so the fact that it was a Les Paul. It was too esoteric of a joke, I guess. :) I got it.
  7. You may want to revisit the set C songs.... There are two absolutely huge differences from the A and B sets. Making the C not close at all to the others. The first set for A/C are identical and the 2nd set has a couple minor changes in my opinion therefore i don't consider them that different. B is quite different from both several changes are there in both sets. I respectfully disagree....While there are distinct changes between the A and B sets......the couple changes between Set A and Set C are far from minor. With Set C you get a Major alternating song change and a Major additional song. Even one song change between sets would be a Major deal for some. In a recent poll, Set C was chosen far and away the most desirable because of the Major changes in it. Of course it's all a personal opinion...but to suggest that Set A and Set C are "almost the same" and that " the tour has two sets.... " is not gonna fly with the highly catalog knowledgeable Rush fans. Go to the Spoiler Set List Thread and suggest that the two Set C song changes are minor .....and see what happens.

  9. Film making at its best... Someone, somewhere is polishing a little golden man statue with your name on it.
  10. I'm guessing that they will film the last show in Los Angeles. Maybe not for the DVD proper, but as a bonus "Live in LA" disc or for a future DVD release. If there's even the slightest chance that LA is the last show ever...then it's a safe bet it will be filmed for the archive footage and a future documentary.
  11. I will never get tired of and definitely never get sick of Subdivisions. It's an awesome song...from an awesome time...with awesome lyrics....and...you guessed it...awesome music.
  12. I will hold my tears back until August 2nd. LA OR BUST! Are you hitting all the Cali shows? Hey my friend. No but I am hitting three to get to 60 shows total. San Jose Vegas LA Forum DONE. GONE IN 60 SECONDS! I mean SHOWS! LOL! 60 shows....Impressive! Los Angeles will be #26 for me. I am expecting an emotional release at some point...hopefully I can hold if off until after the show. At the Irvine show I'm going to relax and enjoy and soak it all in, because all bets are off in LA when the realization starts setting in that this will probably be that last time I see my favorite band.
  13. On second thought I would have to agree...After seeing lots of periscope feeds and 3-4 full concert periscope videos, 1 of a fairly decent quality, I definitely want to buy the DVD. I'm sure there are still several fans who have seen enough full concert YouTube video so as to not feel the need to buy the DVD. Whether positive or negative for DVD sales....Periscope is making an impact.
  14. This goes way beyond a short low quality clip....and I am sure their are even higher quality recordings to come... I enjoyed it very much.... but... I imagine that this is one of the main reasons why this recording is technically illegal.....no $$ is involved. No $ for Rush...no $ for promoters or professional recording productions. I don't give a hoot about any lost revenue...for the record....but... With all the quality but illegal video recordings available...it must surely have an affect on future legal DVD sales.
  15. Pre 1977, I listened to mostly the singer/song writer and soft rock radio stations but quickly became very involved in the Disco era...ala Saturday Night Fever. ( I've got the pictures to prove it...Angel Flight slacks, platform shoes, gold chains, shiny vests and even the afro ). Between the years of 1976-1978 at 13-15 yrs. old, I made the transition, like many, from Disco to Rock. It started with Elton John, Kiss, The Doobie Brothers, Foreigner, Queen, Foghat and Kansas but quickly escalated to Blue Oyster Cult, UFO, Led Zeppelin, Scorpions, Nazerath and Cheap Trick. In early 1978, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and AC/DC became my favorites and soon after that... in late 1978, Rush, Yes, Styx and Pink Floyd entered into my Top Ten and became my main favorites. In 1979, Jethro Tull, Marillion and Triumph were added to my regular rotation of listening favorites. From 1978 through 2015 my top ten favorites have stayed the same and I began to actually go backwards in time to learn the history and full catalogs of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and several other classic rock bands. From 2000 through 2010 my Top Ten favorites have endured, yet tested, with having an open mind about new, or new to me bands. After finally starting to learn how to play some instruments an eventually becoming a musician (bass and keys) in 2010... I went full circle and probably listen to and play more jazz, blues and disco bass beats than any other music.... From 1972 through 2015...I have had many musical influences in my life....from playing classical violin in grade school and classical piano in middle school...to growing up through the 70's & 80's and listening to all the bands listed above and then recently learning to play bass and studying about the classical, jazz and blues influences that are in most all music. With my musical time-line journey... Rush has always been a highlight, an influence, and has remained a constant in my life. Rush has remained my favorite band, which says alot about their lasting effect on my ears, heart and mind.
  16. Rush Yes Pink Floyd Judas Priest Black Sabbath with Jethro Tull and AC/DC getting an honorable mention
  17. Yes put out this statement regarding Chris Squire. On May 19, 2015 - Yes announced that due to leukemia, Squire was taking a leave from the band, and was replaced for the upcoming tours by Sherwood. Sad news...Squire has been my favorite bass player since I first heard The Yes Album when I was 14 yrs. old. Currently Yes is getting ready to go on tour with Steve Howe, Alan White, Geoff Downes, Billy Sherwood and Davison on vocals. Hopefully Squire will get well and make one more run at it.

  22. There are currently 4 slots for alternating songs... You are suggesting 13 slots. The could never happen, on so many different levels. Rush's current reverse chronological four alternating song three rotating set list format is amazing in my opinion. If we still want to discuss tweaking the setlist, I would keep it closer to reality, with some alternate songs within the existing 4 slot rotation format.
