  1. I've been to the airport in Phoenix, Denver and Salt Lake City, but I didn't quantify it as a visit, so I left them blank on my map. I've driven through all of the NE states, and didn't count those either. I used the guideline of having spent at least 24-48 hours visiting, not just driving through. Meh then I guess I shouldnt have ticked off Czech Repub. I've only stayed overnight but had such a miserable experience I was only there for 12 hours. that's just me - you can validate for yourself if you want.

  3. Thank you. But how? There was a code at the bottom of your map - you copy it and paste it into the html window when you're posting here.

  6. That is why I didn't include the states that I have only briefly stopped in or drove through. I don't think it gives them a fair shake. North America is so beautiful - and each area has some amazing things to see, from the desert, to the beaches to the mountains (and even the differences in the mountain ranges) ~ I think vacationing here is wonderful. Yeah, but y'all have Nova Scotia and British Columbia, which I think are tops. Nova Scotia IS amazing. I love the East coast. PEI and New Brunswick are also beautiful. I haven't been to BC, :(

  10. Copy the HTML code at the bottom of the map, then in the posting tool bar here - click the 3rd icon in on the top row. It gives you options for code types, choose HTML Preview your post Remove the part of the code that looks like this [ html] at the start and the part that looks like this [ /html] at the end and then preview again and your map should show when you post.
  11. http://map1.maploco.com/visited-states/ml/CA-FL-IL-KY-ME-MI-NC-NJ-NV-NY-OH-PA-SC-TN-TX.png Create Your Own Visited States Map This is an interesting look at the states you have visited ~ not bad for a Canadian Girl. I didn't include the states that I have only driven through, or stopped over in while changing planes (that would add at least a dozen more)
  12. Rush Reference. In Chain Lightning ~ Presto was the first tour my parents allowed me to attend in bad old Detroit. The lyrical reference to sun dogs being reflected "in another pair of eyes" resonates with me. Have you seen a sun dog in real life? They are BEAUTIFUL!
  13. Wow Thanks :) You're the healthy eating GURU that I thought about while I was typing. You should share. What do you do?
  14. there are others with better ideas and who live much healthier lifestyles than we do. I'm sure they would chime in, but the thread title might be a bit deceiving..... seems a little tongue in cheek, but if it's honest advice you're looking for, start small, but start.... it will get easier. you didn't gain it overnight, and you won't lose it over night but you can do it.
  15. Cutting out the "white" from your diet will help. We cut out almost all breads, & sugars and we feel much better. Edit to add ~ this was hard at first. We were carboholics. Bread with most meals in different forms. Sugar in coffee etc. Sugar is an addiction though, you have to get through the withdrawl period where your body is craving it and it gets much easier. I am NOT a skinny girl - I am curvy, and being short doesn't help - but the first step is FEELING better - You can control your feelings with the fuel you put into your body. We eat lots of salad - but rather than keeping it boring, we use healthy toppings, mixed beans, beets, peperocini, feta cheese, onions etc. We also stopped buying commercial dressing - we cut out dressing altogether for a while, but now we make our own with avocado oil, or olive oil or sunflower oil and different kinds of vinegars. We eat less potatoes, rice and other simple carbs, and more roasted veggies, or grilled veggies We mostly eat pork, & chicken, but I LOVE beef so we have our fair share of burgers and steak - all in moderation. More water. My alcohol of choice is generally a dry red wine, but I love wheat beer, so I don't drink it often.
