  1. At the Mohegan Sun show they had the camera on his hands playing the keyboard during "Time Stands Still" and it appeared as if each word of Aimee Mann's part was programmed on a single key so he would play one key for the "time" another for the "Stands",and yet another for the "Still" along with the timing of the song. At least that's what he appeared to be doing to me.
  2. Section 15 Row J and while I think the low end was quite present, but it was not overwhelming and quite frankly I like a little rumble in my stomach at a concert Sound was awesome for me - I heard everything Alex played pretty clearly.
  3. I listen and play (I'm a guitarist) Rush songs probably to the point of annoyance, for my family at least, in the weeks leading up to a Rush show I'm attending. I'll listen to an album or two from their catalog (in no particular order) completely through each day and jam to a few songs each night (I tend to play for an hour prior to settling down for the night) for the few weeks before the night I'm seeing them. PS - I have my headphones on listening to "Hemispheres" as I type this message. "I bring truth and understanding, I bring wit and wisdom fair, Precious gifts beyond compare. We can build a world of wonder, I can make you all aware. I will find you food and shelter, Show you fire to keep you warm Through the endless winter storm. You can live in grace and comfort In the world that you transform." Ten hours and fifteen minutes till they hit the stage at Mohegan Sun!!!!
  4. I like the idea of Faithless, BU2B, and then Freewill all together as they share a very very similar thematic message. Put together they are a powerful message for choosing "freewill", for lack of a better a less word. Just my 2 cents - your mileage may vary. I really like Faithless as well so I'm looking forward to seeing it tomorrow night.
  5. While it must have been an awesome sight to behold, I'll take the tiny confines of Mohegan Sun with my 10,000 other friends in air conditioned comfort as I really hate big crowds (a little claustrophobic I think) oh yea and outdoor concerts - I'm an arena boy myself.
  6. Mohegan Sun Monday cannot come fast enough!!!!
  7. I have no problem with "The Spirit of Radio" as the opener as I think like others have said, it is linked to the opening video and it sort of sets the "Time Machine" theme with what I interpreted as a radio being analogous to a time machine itself - a tool that brings you back to another time when you hear a song from long ago that you used to rock out to and the thoughts that come rushing back when you hear it. Perhaps I'm stretching, but that's what I immediately thought when they put TSOR as the opener to the "Time Machine Tour". I do agree that the whole excitement concept is lost when you don't have the ability to lower the house lights prior to a dramatic stage entrance - damned sun and it's unwillingness to dim on command. I'm thankful to be seeing them in one of the few indoor venues of this tour at the Mohegan Sun Arena - it was a great place to see the "Snakes & Arrows Tour" and I'm assuming the lighting will be extremely dramatic in the darkness that an arena affords. I can see it now, the intro movie ends, complete darkness for a split second, then Alex's pull-off run starts the beginning to TSOR as the lights come up full and bright - much more dramatic than seeing them walk onto the stage in daylight as the movie ends. On the subject of Neil's drum solo - I've come to enjoy the solos he does these days as they are generally wonderful reworks (what he would probably think of perfectionism's) of past solos in part mixed with new ideas that he has. He is a percussionist more than a drummer, mixing both electronic, acoustic, sampled sounds and video, to create a composition that is anything but spontaneous, but that's ok - I'm a musician and enjoy the compositional nature of his solos for the effort he puts into them. Just my 2 cents - your mileage may vary.
  8. Saw them there on the S&A tour as well as seeing a few other concerts there, it has quickly become one of my favorite venue to see live arena sized bands in. As noted, because of the size, there are just no bad seats and the sound is very very good. I'll be there on Monday night with my wife, both sure we will see an amazing show. As for the KK issue - I'm probably one of the few, but I just don't like KK donuts, they seem like little hoops of grease and sugar, and not the good kind of grease and sugar. I like my pastries just like the next red blooded American, but KK just does not do it for me. I'll head over to the food court bakery for a sweet treat if anything.
  9. I also am not a fan of the outdoor venue. While I've been to several good concerts outdoors, I'll always prefer seeing bands in an indoor environment. I'm happy Rush chose to come back to the Mohegan Sun Arena as it is such a great venue to see a band in - it's so small compared to most arena venues and as such there are very few if any bad seats; the sound is quite good as well. I really hope the show gets rescheduled for those that missed out and also hope that those with some of the great seats mentioned get similar seating choices.
