  1. I’m a lapsed Catholic but will pray for you tonight.
  2. Actually Neil was contemptuous of the Beatles and made no bones about it. He gets to be wrong, I loved the guy but he wasn't always nice. The writer was typical of the jerks who wrote for those mags, I never could understand why anyone read them. Rolling Stone was a small step up but still all the writers were pretentious so no surprise there. I think Neil thought the dude was a prick and baited him accordingly.
  3. No one knows who the f**k Kordosh was, aside from a few fat nerds. These dipshits had no idea what it meant to actually be in a band and to grind it out year after year on the road.
  4. I love the hook. And the production. This is definitely more enjoyable than anything else non-rush he has been futzing around with these past years. This sounds focused and interesting. I’m sure that the album will offer more variety. And this is a band, with a collective statement, not a solo album dudes!
  5. Yeah Big Money is one of their “kitchen sink” songs like TSOR or RTB. Or Show Me Don’t Tell Me.
  6. f***in great album and really it was mostly down hill from there.
  7. This thread can get its driver’s permit in Florida!

I think they could’ve trimmed a couple tracks, and spent some more quality time on a couple others (wreckers, cities of gold). Otherwise it’s a pretty great swan song.
  9. Overrated: The Spirit of Radio Underrated: Tears
  10. I think if I were a known musician as he was, I would have handled it the way he did. I have quite a bit of respect for his friends sitting on it until after he was gone. It is truly a great thing to know that people out there will do that for you if asked. But he was also a writer and someone who explored the idea of death many times. This guy wrote Time Stand Still and the Garden. His perspective would be an important one.
  11. Still sorta hurts for me. Kinda feel like Covid has put things in a suspended state. Was hoping we’d have a tribute performance or something to properly honor the man. I’m also very surprised that NP didn’t directly comment on his condition - no writings or dispatches of any kind.
  12. I have to admit when it comes to covid vs 30th Anniversary of Use Your Illusion, I'm pulling for covid. Seriously. Ain’t that the truth. talk about a band.....who has lived off one great album their entire career....I find it astounding to be frank. The same can be said of a few bands (Nirvana immediately comes to mind who had IMO a vastly overrated debut and subpar follow up and they have been legendary ever since). There are some good songs on Use Your Illusion I and II. I can count them on my 5 fingers....a bloated double album full of filler. I bought both discs at the time of their release and never once could listen to either all the way through in one listen. There are some decent tracks but nothing so great that I couldn't even bother making a 1 disc compilation of the best tracks. I liked Civil War And isn’t that the one track Steven Adler plays on?
  13. Being bluntly honest in your objective appraisal, I can imagine being creeped out as an attractive female performing in front of a bunch of dudes as old as my dad undressing me with their minds. It's one thing to feel sexy as a performer in front of your peers and own it, it's another to be ogled by old nerds. This makes sense - and I saw some weird, fawning bald dudes on a couple videos. I could definitely see that as being a reason. However - she should’ve hung in there - no question the crowds could get younger as they get bigger. Just the way it goes. She has a great vibe onstage and Billy is a smart musician. It’s a good combo that I hope they revisit.
  14. All the Miyazaki movies are on HBO Max. These might be the greatest films ever made.

  16. Just watched Sunset Blvd. for the first time. Great film.
  17. We don't know what's going on though. So we can't say it's a dick move or not. Terrible timing for sure but maybe life threw some stuff at her and she needs to take care of it. Yeah - seems like a hasty decision when the band is on the cusp of bigger things. All things being normal, you don’t bail on a band that’s got shows booked and an album coming out. Do the shows and then split. I think Rocky is perfect for the band and I’m disappointed. She sounded like a female Geddy! She did it tastefully too. It’s big shoes to fill
  18. Seems like a dick move to me, but it could be for a host of different reasons.
  19. I bet it has something to do with Geddy’s upcoming book and Alex’s upcoming album. I’m hoping that there will be some Rush related announcements when those two products hit the market. Perhaps of the release of a deluxe moving pictures set would hurt sales of the book and Lifeson album.
  20. https://m.facebook.com/YYNOTBAND/ Just before an album release and an upcoming tour.
  21. Alex f***ing crushed it. The whole performance was mostly pretty good, though that one vocalist seemed clueless and lost. Crowd Lands dude was great. Are there SIX guitar players on stage?? 2 keyboard players. A drummer and 2 percussionists? I wonder if that was enough?
  22. The doc is amazing. Just get Disney plus, watch and then cancel. Worth it.
