  1. I read that albums are much more expensive to manufacture than CDs. Cds are fairly inexpensive to create.
  2. When did they ever lose respectibility? I know many people who do not like them, but they still respected them.
  3. I read Sting's Broken Music years ago. He definitely has a way with words. As an English teacher, I wasvery impressed with the turn of the word.
  4. Hmmm. Sounds like a way to get the sort-of completest to place a reissue next to their original...
  5. You picked 2 of the 5 ok ones, for me. Hope is so short, how can you hate it? And even if you do, it doesn't provide enough time to hit the bathroom like Armour and Sword or Spindrift. Add the Way the Wind Blows, and you can have a toke and get a beer and miss nothing. I don't hate either of the songs. Hope is fine, but it doesn't need to be part of the album. The Larger Bowl is a fine song, just not as interesting to me as others on the record.
  6. I just gave S&A a listen and really enjoyed it. The only tunes I could take or leave are Larger Bowl and Hope.
  7. 1. In the End 2. different Strings 3. Chemistry, Enemy Within, Open Secrets, Emotion Detector 4. Hand Over Fist 5. Vapor Trail Obviously I would want to hear more songs, but these are the ones that I would like to hear that I haven't.
  8. Wind and Wuthering is my favorite. I like Nursery Crime and the self-titled one as well. Actually the only one I never warmed up to was the one without Phil.
  9. Aftk through PoW. Power Windows is incredibly consistent. For me, HYF was the first time since 2112 that there was a song that did not go with the flow.
  10. I've been hearing "this could be it" since 87. My friend looked at me 11 years ago during the video accompanied R30 Overture and said it reminded him of a eulogy. "This could be it," he said. I was surprised they came back in 02. I'll keep going and waiting for shows until they stop.
  11. All of these are good choices. I would add Chemistry though it's highly unlikely that they will play it.
  12. I had trouble enjoying the first one. I don't think of them as a cover band.
  13. what??? SPAC 2009. I was in the ninth row and he walked in and sat a few rows in front of me. He and his wife(?) were dressed like they were going to a renaissance fair. He had a cane with a ornate silver thing on his cane. That was the first time I saw him looking not well. he grew up near Cortland, NY with a guy I knew when I lived in Ithaca
  14. Burn and Stormbringer are amazing. One of my favorite albums is Come Taste the Band.
  15. The Dio years were wonderful. Rising is an incredible album...saw RJD at a Rush show once.
  16. I just listened to Bravest Face...not a bad song. In fact it is better than a lot of stuff they did in the 90s. Thank you everyone for making me revisit this album.
  17. For me, the removal of The Larger Bowl, Bravest Face, and Hope would bring this to a one sitting listening experience. I don't care for those three songs either.
  18. I think it is a fine album with some great tunes on it. As aforementioned it is too long. Cut some of the weaker songs off, throw in some more melodic bass playing, and it would be great. Faithless is my favorite track from this record.
  19. Drinking bourbon and playing Ladt Writer on my Strat
