  1. As much as I would love to hear it I have to agree with this.
  2. Losing It by a country mile. Brings me back to junior high.
  3. RTB is certainly not the worst song off RTB but it is forgettable. I have mentioned before how I find this album as a blight on a great career. The song made me concerned about the future of Rush which was only eased by the release of Animate.
  4. Of Course the answer to OP is a simple ..... NO ! :tsk: But when did bringing kids, Any kids, to "rock" concerts become acceptable ? I Guarantee when I saw Rush for the 1st time in 1980, NO parent brought their kid to that show ! Same for ALL the 100's of Rock concerts I attended from lets say 1980/1985 My kids were 8yrs & 10yrs in 1990 & it never ever even crossed my mind to bring them to a rock concert. Was I a bad parent ? I will have to ask them now that they are in there 30's if they felt deprived about this, But I do know they both attend "rock" concerts & have 3 kids each from 4yrs to 15yrs old They have Never brought any of them to these shows Now-A-Days, Unless it's a 21 & over only show, I'm tripping over all these rug rats running around...... My son did not run around. He sat next to me. I am a good parent. Just ask him...
  5. My son was 9 when I brought him to his first Rush show. I took the same steps you state with regard to bringing him.
  6. This makes me very nervous. I would skip the show myself if it were the only way to keep her from bringing someone that young. I usually keep out of these discussions but this one scared me.
  7. ATWAS is flawless. I do wish they would have released the whole 2/20/78 show instead of just part of it. ATWAS would still be better for me.
  8. This sounds great on vinyl. I have a minty original so I will stick with that one.
  9. The first time my friend and I heard this on the radio (before RTB was released), he asked, "did he just say 'we're well hung?'" To this day that's what I hear. That being said, I was never a big fan of the song.
  10. One of my favorites! All the best to Bruce for a speedy recovery. Cancer sucks.

    Jacob's Ladder

    I love this version
  12. If RTB was the first I ever heard from Rush, I may have been hesitant to pursue them further. Face Up does nothing for me either way. There are other songs on this album that are less inspiring. Bravado is the only one I really like. This album is the first one in the catalog that I was disappointed with after first listen. In fact, I have not listened to it all the way through in years.

    Jacob's Ladder

If you really want to appreciate it, learn it on guitar and play along with it a thousand times. Lifeson's guitar work is what pushes this song to be one of the best from that era.

    Jacob's Ladder

The tone that drips off Lifeson's guitar solo is thick as honey. This, Limelight, and La Villa are his best solo guitar tones for me. Everything about this song is perfect. Part of me wants to hear it live and part of me wants it preserved in the early 80's.

    Natural Science

I remember hearing Permanent Waves all the way through when I was 12 or so back in 83. Whenever I hear it I am taken back to that first time.
  16. Necromancer and Fountain are flawless
  17. Maybe. If they put out disc 3 as a vinyl then definitely.
  18. Life has surface noise. I prefer vinyl. Analog, baby!
  19. There are many other skip worthy songs...like most of the RTB album.
