Geddy talks about his new Fender USA Geddy Lee Jazz Bass
micgtr71 replied to Hemispheres4Echo's topic in Rush
I love my 95 Fender J more than any other jazz I have ever played including a 70 and a 65. If there were to be a sea foam green version I may have to jump on it.... -
I actually have preferred side 2 to side one since the 80s. I love side one, but the bass work on side 2 is astounding and the bass sound on this record is by far my favorite.

Way back in 83...I was 12

This was the "new" album when I first heard them. Second full album I heard after PeW
-
I don't and it is not because of the lyrics...though they are not great. Song is my least favorite from CP

For me, this was the first lead off single (since Subdivisions for me) that I didn't like. While it was played well on the VT tour, it never grew on me. In fact, other than Bravado, the album never grew on me.

Ace and Paul did great records, but I voted for Peter for a few reasons. First, even though it is a departure from Kiss, it is a consistent album with good songs. Also, I love his voice. I did not like Gene's album....

Please NOOOOOOO!

Man I remember that like it was yesterday. 31 years? How is that possible? Tempus fugit

There are so many from 89 on...probably dog years, T4E, or half the world

I can play his parts and to a point mimic his sounds. That being said, I can not create like him or create anything that sounds like him. I wish I could pull off half of the emotion he puts out in LVS.

They are. Also the Ric neck is wider and thicker than the jazz. It's like playing a telephone pole compared to the jazz. But really, the weight issue is with the double neck, not just the Ric. It is quite a bit heavier. I would think just for Xanadu they could break them out. The place would go insane. Of course he'll have to that for 50+ shows or whatever the number is. The man is almost 62. Would be great to see one last time. I have to admit. I never noticed a difference in weight between the Ric and the jazz... The Steinberger I had humorously enough was heavier than both of them. One thing I remember Lee saying about the Ric was that the sound wasn't as fat. I agree though always thought the Ric had a great sound. One thing I remember was the neck was a pain to keep straight.

I don't like the album or the concept. If they made the covers more Rush-like maybe....I like the Yes version of America because they stripped everything Paul Simon from the song a made it theirs. Ditto Hendrix and Watchtower.

Aja is the best traveling album. I love them and saw them in 1993 at spac.

"Amazing banshee wail" was one of my friends comments after first hearing Something for Nothing.

Chemistry for me.

Superconductor. Still recovering from how that song raped Xanadu on the RTB tour.

Which Rush album took the longest to grow on you?
micgtr71 replied to Rush Fan in Michigan's topic in Rush
Roll the Bones has yet to grow on me. 24 years and counting suggests that it never will... -
A Farewell to Kings would be interesting

Thank you all so much!
