  1. Tshirts...Last one I bought was on the Presto tour
  2. Are they selling? Are there people out there that will pay $1000 for a show? If what they say is true about this economy, there are going to be a lot of empty seats up front. Prices are re-cockulous
  3. Wow, that makes $125 sound not too bad. I will be with good company on the lawn. I am going with my 11 year old son. His favorite song is Witch Hunt and he is going to get to hear it.
  4. I saw yes from the center top and they were good seats. You really can't be too far away there. You just want to make sure you are not behind a roof support.
  5. I would love to hear them do Fountain or Necromancer. I would love to hear Cinderella Man or Cygnus. Had my fill of CTTH over the last two decades. Did not miss it on the last few tours
  6. +1 for ticketbastard. God those guys have the fees. I got an offer to buy a special T-shirt. Wouldn't have bought it even if it said "I just got screwed by Ticketmaster"
  7. That's funny. Actually, the lawn at SPAC ain't that bad. I saw the dead there back in 88 and Steely Dan in 93. You can move to where there is no pole (depending if you know how to ask the right questions). There are the big screens too. I just hope that it doesn't rain. I have memories of seeing Metallica back in 89 in the rain and I'm too old for that at this stage of the game.
  8. Well, I did it. I'm on the lawn. Last time I saw them at SPAC I was in the 12th row and I bought two tickets blind. My friend called me up and with trepidation told me that I owed him $190 and change. Back in 90 I got into the 2nd row and that only cost me $25 or so. I was in the front row in 87 (general admission) for around 12 bucks. I can't remember how much I paid before that but it was around the cost of a value meal at Wendy's probably. Come to think of it, my Counterparts, T4E and RTB seats were rather close and they were all reasonable. I looked at the pricing and chose two tickets that were near the front and the price was near to $300. I paid that much for my first car (I'm 39). I don't want to sound like I'm complaining because I know that is the going rate. Less blame on Rush and more on the current state of prices in the US. My two lawn tickets cost me almost $100. $50 bucks plus would have gotten me inside, but I just could not do it. I didn't want to miss them but this will be my only show this tour (there are 3 within my usual driving distance). Anyone else going to the lawn or skipping because of this?
  9. Doesn't seem possible that there are 80 disabled people trying for tickets in the first seconds of the sale. You may want to contact the venue to see about this as you have a legitimate concern. Maybe they can give you some information on how to obtain a seat that is closer. Doesn't seem fair that you should have to sit in the back row when you are trying for seats on the first day. Good luck and I hope all works out.
  10. Losing it, Emotion Detector, Open Secrets, Available Light, Fountain?...to be realistic I'll go with Different Strings
  11. I never thought about the vintage equipment idea. I would sit through the entire Snakes and Arrows album with MP as an encore if Ged played the entire show on his Double Rick with the Sunn amps. Seriously, Counterparts was almost 17 years ago so there is a lot of past to pick from. I figure it will be a lot like the last tour. Standards with a few (3 or 4) surprises they have not pulled out in a while
  12. At the risk of being a debbie downer I am kind of afraid of this show because of time restrictions. I saw Yes here a few years back and they cut some tunes from the setlist to fit the show in. They had an opening band so hopefully it won't be an issue. Anyone else thought of this? Help me to ease my mind.
  13. This is interesting. I remember seeing them in the 80s and knowing that they were going to play songs from the entire catalog with the majority being from the recent releases. Consequently, we never complained that 2112 was only the beginning and that the Finding My Way was part of a medley. In hindsight I probably thought they were cutting it down because they had so many songs and wanted to fit them in for us. As for the music, it was Rush. I never thought about the new wave look though it makes sense to me now. The classics sound different played in that context, almost contemporary to the sound. Hard to explain.
  14. The outro to Countdown. The one that still gets me every time. For the most part though it's "Frozen in that fatal climb..." I love that section. One of the strongest Rush songs melodically.
  15. Should be interesting: Before and After Beneath Between and Behind The Necromancer Something for Nothing Cygnus X-1 Book 1 Cygnus X-1 Book2 Jacob's Ladder Losing It Afterimage Territories Open Secrets Available Light Neurotica Double Agent Driven Vapor Trail Faithless...yes, I know. It's a guilty pleasure. I don't know about this order though. They would ease in to the set and then peter out. Not really an opener or a closer in the set I created.
  16. Wow, Presto is 21 years old this fall. Time Machine indeed!
  17. I have to agree. I wear the simple squishy ones and they work fine. Rush does play loud. I have seen the who and the Metallica and Rush is not far behind them. I agree. As I near 40, I will be protecting my already damaged ears.
  18. Saratoga, Mansfield, and my home town of Syracuse!!!! What a great summer/fall this will be!
  19. I went through Rush and got great seats but I paid through the teeth for them. This time around, I'm going for the lawn. During these economic times I can't see throwing down Big Money for inside...that is if they play SPAC this year.
  20. It's Rush...whatever the news, it will be good for me. I am excited.
  21. Losing it, Afterimage, Emotion Detector, Open Secrets, and...That's enough for now. Please no more Dreamline or Red Sector A
  22. LVS is the one that is most emotional in my opinion. YYZ is fantastic as is Overture and Cygnus. The later instrumentals do not seem to hold up as well as these. You could lay vocals on them. LVS and YYZ would be more difficult to add vocals to.
