  1. QUOTE (WavesandWindows @ Oct 4 2012, 07:47 AM) Look, I am a new fan.... I own the entire discography and the only album that they've released in my time of being a fan is Clockwork Angels.... I started with Time Machine and hadn't heard anything of their material. Didn't like Time Stand Still, Presto, Marathon etc. but you know what. After seeing the first setlists I added each of the songs in order from the studio versions.... Apart from 2112, which I pulled from R30.... I didn't really like the synth era stuff at that point, and you know what??? I adapted.... I learned to like it. And at this point, 2 of my 20 greatest are from Power Windows.... So before you go stereotyping the new fans as according to the old fans, please take my story into account.... Signals, Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire, Presto, Roll The Bones, all of it rules! If made it, I love it Incredibly well done! I honestly can't stand the attitude of listening something for the first time, not liking it and not giving it a second or third chance. That's what I always try to avoid. Sometimes it's just the listener's fault, we sometimes have TO LEARN how to appreciate some kind of music. When you listen to it for the tenth time and still don't like... fine, at least you tried it, but there's no such thing as an open mind (and ears). So, hats off to you! Keep on ing!

  4. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Jul 31 2011, 02:03 PM) Been to Toronto many times primarily for RushCon. Great city. I like the Parliament Building for the Romanesque architecture as well as it being the "Moving Pictures" building. If you like art galleries, I highly recommend visiting the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). An addition to it was recently done by architect Frank Gehry that I fell in love with. He's usually not one of my favorite architects, but this is the exception. Here's a link to their site: http://www.ago.net/ It's located at 317 Dundas Street West close to the University of Toronto. Since Geddy frequents art galleries, you might see him. Thanks for the recommendation! I think I'm gonna spend the three weeks at the gallery's gate just in case the man appears But anyway, I like art so it's a great excuse to visit something like this in the big city. I've seen the addition you mean on Google Maps, looks weird, very modern, I like it. Oh, and I can't play hockey.... Now, it's the right time and at the right place, eh!
  5. Thanks so much for the advice, guys! I'll go to The Orbit Room for sure, although I know it's almost impossible to meet THE BOSS there... I'll definitely go to the Parliament Building (I didn't know it was on Toronto until you told me!) and see places like Massey Hall or Meap Leaf Gardens. I'm sure I'll do a lot of things round Yongue Street as my hall of residence is pretty close. It's gonna be a beauty!! Can't wait!!
  6. Hi, guys! I'm travelling to Toronto next Tuesday for three weeks. I'm Spanish and it's gonna be the first time me crossing the Ocean. Can't wait!! I'm thinking about coming over The Orbit Room, Alex's restaurant-club. I've heard they also do concerts there. Have you ever been there? What do you think about the place? It would be great to go to Rush-related places or clubs where I can listen to them. It's gonna be great to be in their hometown!!! That's beauty, eh???
