  1. Gerne :) Yep, but I think that is mainly because of the fewer layers and the clearer sound overall. The wall of guitar noise is gone and it sounds more "pure". I made a screen for you which might wet your tongues :) Those are the old and the new Earthshine mixes in comparison: http://www19.zippysh...94276/file.html Edit: Peaceable Kingdom: http://www37.zippyshare.com/v/9887720/file.html
  2. Hi, I just got the new remix and it sounds amazing. :) Way more dynamic sound, no clipping/distortion at all (!), way better sound of the acoustic sections. Especially the folkier songs like "Sweet Miracle" and "How it is" massively profit from the new mix. There are some changes which are a matter of taste, though. They definately left out some layers, some people might feel like its missing something on some parts. The proportion between main and backing vocal layers also has been changed in some songs. The album sounds very clear and neutral, now. It loses a bit of its "rough edge". I love it, but some people may still prefer the old mix.
  3. In my opinion, Seven Cities of Gold/The Wreckers/Headlong Flight is the killer streak on this album. 8) To be serious, I think it is a really consistent album, not something where you can take a certain part from and tell it is the "major" part.
  4. "Hate" is such a strong word. Vapor Trails is very good, Snakes&Arrows is decent and Clockwork Angels is AWESOME.
  5. Erm, maybe like this? 1. Signals 2. Moving Pictures 3. Clockwork Angels 4. Power Windows 5. A Farewell to Kings 6. Permanent Waves 7. Vapor Trails 8. Counterparts 9. Test for Echo 10. Presto 11. Grace under Pressure 12. 2112 13. Hemispheres 14. Hold Your Fire 15. Snakes&Arrows 16. Roll the Bones I do not own the first three albums yet.
  6. Me too. In europe (or only germany?), the album is already released.
  7. I guess that the fan packs have been send earlier in foreign countries to make sure they arrive their homes at release. But obviously, they underestimated the mail service. Anyway, I am not one of those lucky bastards . I ordered my package regularly on Amazon and it will probably arrive tomorrow.
  8. The first two songs make it already sure that it is better than S&A, because it has at least 2 more great songs than S&A. Vapor Trails was a great album to me though, I am not sure if they can beat this . But I hope for even more, Caravan is really amazing.
  9. Omg, I got really high expactations now. :-) The first two songs we already know are better than everything on S&A and I loved the Prog influence on Caravan.
  10. Signals is the best rush album. Prove: "Chemicals" has only 3% of the votes and is still awesome.
  11. QUOTE See if he likes TFE. If he does, you know he's a lost cause. wink.gif Indeed a good idea though. Try out "Driven", together with the video. The modern, slightly sterile sound should be easier for him to get into. QUOTE Wait, he liked Subdivisions, but he didn't like Xanadu?.. wacko.gif Subdivisions is way poppier.

  13. QUOTE (Nate2112 @ Nov 2 2011, 04:18 PM)Some gay covered You Spin Me Right Round into a rap song. Is it bad that i saw the Beastie Boys live? There is also a cool fanmade Beastie Boys version of Tom Sawyer called "Pass the mic, tom". http://yeahoyeah.com/video.aspx?id=2240 And yep, the "Spin me right round" track is horrible (that guy is called "Flo Rida") - El-P and Beastie Boys play in a very different league though
  14. QUOTE (trenken @ Nov 2 2011, 10:39 AM) This guy is an amateur rapper and did this for fun. Many of them actually do write beats and music believe it or not. I completely agree with your opinion. Still, you are wrong in this point. El-P is a real influential artist in the independent rap scene, especially when it comes to production. It is not the first he shows his love for Progressive Rock. He also worked together with "The Mars Volta" in a track, for example. He usually does not sample someone else that obviously, I see that more as a hommage. Following the text, it is a kind of remix anyway. Edit: http://soundcloud.com/productomart/drones-...klyn-uncensored Yep, this is the original track. And dont tell me this is simple stuff.
